A bitter sweet evening

This evening has been a bit of an odd one really. It’s been up and down. My weight was up and my mood was down, then it was up again. It really has been that sort of a night.

The group were voting for their Man of the Year this evening. It’s their annual event to choose the person who has inspired them through the year. I won last year after only being on the plan for a few months so thought that was a bit strange.

This year I’ve done the double! I was awarded Man of the Year 2019. I feel massively humbled by this. I know that it was a two horse race but to get the nod again really is a bit of a boost.

However, the evening started with an announcement from our Consultant Jennie; She’s leaving us. She’s got an amazing new job in a school and starts in about four weeks. Jennie has been an amazing group leader. She’s lead the group for three and a half years and has done an incredible job. She’s utterly infectious and has been a massive part of my journey.  I think that we’re all going to miss her. I know that I am. Good luck in your new role Jen.

So onto the plan. It was a gain this week. Only half a pound but it’s really deflated me. I so wanted to get to that 9 stone mark. I did have a couple of pints of water this afternoon so Alex thinks that it may be that and that I would perhaps have lost if I’d not been that thirsty.

Looking back food wise, then perhaps Saturday wasn’t strictly on plan. I did have a meal out and had some Pringles when I visited my friend. My food has been mostly on plan for the rest of the time. I perhaps went a bit wrong with some pork steaks but I so wanted to have something other than chicken!  I found myself plodding around Sainsbugs completely bewildered the other night. I really need to try and find a nice recipe in the Pinch of Nom book!

I did go for a couple of walks and had a good two hour wander on Sunday but then I only went out last night to walk around Roath Park. That’s not so good as I have been but at least there have been a couple of wanderings.

Weight Change Total Loss
19st 13lb + 0.5lb 8st 12.5lb (124.5lbs)

So I need to sit back and review what I’ve done this week and where I can make those small changes that will make the difference. A few more walks, even if it’s just the Thornhill loop.

I need to get to that 9 stone mark and I need to do it when Jennie is still with us. I hope that will be her crowning achievement.
