Lockdown. Weight up.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock over the last week and there are signs that some people have been, the UK has been put under a very restrictive regime that has seen the banning of meetings of people other than family.

Its had massive knock on effects with people losing their jobs and livelihoods. Self-employed people seeing massive drops in income and all for the sake of a virus that could have been avoided if our Government had acted quicker.

It also has an affect on those who have been looking to attempt weightloss over the last few years.

I always felt that I was going to be going to Slimming World for the rest of my life. I know that the groups are really important to the journey and that’s something that was going to keep me motivated and on plan.

I’d be fairly certain that I’ll be putting on weight again given this last week. I’ve been so poor and very much off plan over the last few days.

I’m staying in Wenvoe with my old mum at the moment. She went in to hospital last week as she had another fall. She’s much better now but her home is very much off plan. Lots of chocolate and biscuits. Bread, cheese and not a lot else. I’ve just not been able to resist these.

So I have I think, resign myself to putting on the weight whilst we’re under this roof and under this lockdown.

I’m working from home so not going into an office. I’m therefore not getting much walking done. I walk Hollie the dog in the morning but it is a brief 15 to 20 minutes.

My good friend Fiona didn’t really have a go at me yesterday but did offer me some good ideas as to how to keep up the exercise in isolation. Yoga has been suggested. A ten minute session that could help me with keeping the old love handles at bay!

I’d say that I’ve probably put on six pounds again this week. It’s just scary how easily they go on and how difficult it is to take off.

I’ll weigh unofficially again on Thursday. I’ll see how that goes.
