Lockdown: Week Twelve.

Week Twelve. That’s three full months by the end of  the week. Time is just rattling by. Work is still happening and thankfully, I am busy.

I realise that I’ve missed the blogging for the last couple of weeks and for that again I am sorry. I should continue to put down my experiences in words for the record and I’ve been a bit remiss in this.

Things are moving on however. I have set up more care for the Mum. She’s had a CT Scan and I’m hopeful that we will find out soon whether her memory issues are being caused by the Lupus or if it’s something else.

She’s getting four visits a day from next Monday which takes a load off my mind.

I’ve been able to move back home and am nearly back into the groove of fending for myself and cooking things that are going to be beneficial to the plan.

Butter has gone, bread is out. Spuds back in, soooo much real chicken and not the usual but vegetarian chicken nuggets (1.5 syns each). Chocolate too has gone and of course, so has the banana cake! Pringles however, that’s another thing! Damn you Sainsburys! £1 🙁

So where did I end up?

After leaving mum’s about a week ago, I weighed and had gone up to 19st 11lbs. That’s up over a stone since my pre-lockdown weight.

This week has been better but still not great. Our weekly Skype catch up last weekend (the first one at home) ended up with me getting massively drunk. Three beers and lots of rum and (diet) Pepsi saw me up until 2am posting lots of videos. Not very clever cos I was completely ruined on Sunday! Spent the day in bed feeling very sorry for myself.

I have had a couple of walks this week. I went for a wander on Monday evening after work. Wasn’t going to go very far but did manage about three miles and did take a walk on Tuesday too again, just under four miles, socially distanced with Alex and Star.

So after a week away from temptation have I managed to lose 2lbs. Which is a start. In six weeks at that rate, I’d be back to where I was before the lockdown began.

The weather isn’t great and the forecast is dodgy for most of the weekend but I’m hopeful that I can dodge a shower or two and take a wander at the weekend.

I found a good app (OS Maps) that has shared treks that people have been on. So that looks promising. Gives you routes to follow or it will track your own route so you can upload and share to the App.

Have a look here: OS Maps – Google Play Store
