Lockdown : Week Nineteen.

We’re still under lockdown conditions, however things are starting to ease in Wales. England seems to be bearing the brunt of things for coming out of lockdown conditions too soon and it’s no doubt going to bring us back into the full lockdown situation again.

Things are moving on however and we are able to book a seat to visit a pub. We can use public transport with a mask on. Things are getting a bit easier I suppose but dieting is still horrendous!

For the first time in a long time, I was able to go away for an evening.

So this weekend was a bit of an epic waste as far as food was concerned. Chips and Onion Bhaji’s, pizza and copious amounts of beer on Saturday, Waffles on Sunday. Food has been really bad and my discipline is failing.

I’ve had the week off work this week. It’s been a quite one. I took Mum to her hospital appointment and stayed with her for a while.

I decided on Tuesday to go up to the Beacons and have another go at Pen-Y-Fan. It was definitely a lot harder than the last time I went up there. I was huffing and puffing like Thomas the Tank Engine but made it to the top. It was the journey back down that took its toll.

A massive blister and sore legs for days afterwards! Still more activity in a couple of days than the last few weeks.

So the weekend was a really great one, the food was bad though and that’s really causing me issues as my head isn’t back into the swing of things. My wonderful friend Ms Parslow is doing her best to motivate me back into the swing of Slimming World. She’s doing amazingly well, losing four stone herself.

She’s my syn value person and tries her best to keep me within the limit for the day. She can’t always do this but she has recently been the voice of sanity and is ready to show her disappointment at the drop of a hat.

The tale from the scale.

This weeks tale is a “maintain”. Well, it’s a slight gain but it was only 0.2lbs so I’d be happy to call that a maintain.

Hopefully my walk up the mountain and around the lake saved me this week.

Next week, I’m back in work. I’ve got no time then to just sit and eat. I’ll have the remainder of the weekend (minus a few hours on Saturday) to pull it round for next week and hopefully a few walks after hours during the week.

I bought some skinny sauces and syrups this week and I’m hopeful that my sweet tooth could be soothed by some of this. We’ll see how it goes.
