Getting back to life.

This week I are be mostly eating good things really.

I’ve been really trying to count calories rather than syns for the last couple of weeks. I signed up to Nutracheck for the month and my Fitbit died so I just had to purchase a new one!

I don’t know why I bothered as for some reason I can’t get notifications on the damn thing but apart from that, it works and it’s probably down to the phone (three year old Huawei). Going back to Samsung next time.

Anyway! Back to the week and I must admit that I’ve been concentrating on eating better and using Nutracheck to keep a food diary and an eye on the calorie count. I am under the count but I’ve been a bit lax on the old exercise stuff.

My food has been good and I’ve allowed myself the odd treat here and there. I did have a few drinkies on Friday, joining in a tribute to Mark and I had a late night like I’ve not had for a long while. Was a good evening watching some Twitch streams.

Saturday was a bit of a write off! I went to mums on Sunday and managed to hit something on the road. Of course, I immediately think the worse and that it’s going to write the car off.

There wasn’t a mark on it and no fluid falling from the car, no odd noises but I’m a bit reluctant to use it at the moment. I’m sure that it will be fine.

The rest of the week has been a bit of a nothing really. Just work, eat, sleep! Not the greatest novel you’ve ever read.

My attempt at going partially meat free is going well. I’ve discovered some more meatless sausages that are 1.5 syns on SW.

The Meatless Farm 6 Meat Free Sausages 300G

They seem a bit oily but the texture is very nice. I can see me swapping permanently to these or the Linda McCartney ones. I’m already addicted to the Quorn Crispy nuggets!

The Mum is more settled in the Care Home. I did get a call to her on the weekend. She was okay but had woken a bit upset as she believed that she was being “released”.

I managed to get my brother involved in the call with her so that was good although I think it may have shocked him to see her the way she was.

The weigh in

So, on to this weeks weigh in. I wasn’t expecting miracles so I was quite happy with 3.2lbs off this week. So after only two weeks I’m 9lbs down and heading in the right direction.

According to Nutracheck (I’m not being paid for these mentions by the way!) I’m doing well on the fibre and protein side of things and keeping the sugar in check.

Anyway, counting those calories is clearly the way to go. Once this horrific time is over then I will go back to group but so long as I can keep this going then I’ll continue with keeping those calories in check.

Thanks for reading again and much lurve.
