Tuesday again. A new week begins and after last week it’s time to knuckle down and get my mind into the world of slim.
I did have a good week and got a couple of walks under my belt. I did a couple of laps around the Reservoir at Llanishen and did The Thornhill Top Loop too. Just under two miles there.
The weekend let me down however. There were no gigs and only one pint had but there was lots of fantastic food down in the most West of Wales.

Newgale Beach
A last minute decision and it was off in the Yellow Peril to the far side of Wales. I’ve never driven there before and my god have I been missing out. Simply turning a corner or cresting a hill and I was provided with a different and fantastic view.
Newgale was stunning. I think I need to go back there to spend a night under canvas some time in the future. I don’t think I realised how long it takes to get down to St Davids.
Just five miles further along the road was the City of St David’s and the weather couldn’t have been more different. The mist had rolled in and everything had a slightly grey tinge to it.
By this time, the tum was starting to rumble. Fish and Chips at the end of Wales was far too tempting to pass up.

St David’s Cathedral
The Cathedral City was beautiful and would have been even better if the sun had come out! It was amazing to see how the city had grown up above the Cathedral grounds. Plenty of shops catering to the tourists and one of the nicest ice-cream’s I’d ever tasted!
The overnight stop was in a quiet little hotel. It reminded me a little of Faulty Towers. There was a nice enough main house with a little bar. There were however quite a number of little niggles that turned it from 5 star to just 3.
The staff were helpful enough but appeared to be run off their feet. The bar prices and food was quite expensive for what it was. The room smelled quite fausty and the windows in the room weren’t double glazed. It would have been quite chilly in the winter months.

The Penrallt Country House Hotel
Breakfast was okay but it was expensive. I did however try to get my money’s worth! Weetabix, toast, jam and a full Welsh breakfast. The breakfast was tasty but definitely not £20 worth!
The next stop was Aberporth but just further along the road was Tresaith. That was worth the stop. A great beach with a waterfall at one end. The car park was at the top of a very steep hill so the steps were being accrued!
Time to head home but with a stop at Cenarth Falls. I’d been there a long time ago with my mate Huw. They’ve done some work and have built a boardwalk along the riverside. A good little wander topped off with a nice slice of cake at the end of it!

Cenarth Falls
Tale of the scale

So after an amazing weekend, it was going to be a bit of a shocker on the scales of doom this week.
After an okay day in work and with the benefit of a few extra thousand steps today, I was quite happy when the scales registered a maintain.
I was quite pleased as I had half expected to have put on at least two pounds.
The scales did wobble a bit but the final reading was a maintain.
Next week on Fatboy Slimmer
There’s not much that will hold me back from a good loss next week. I do have a gig on Saturday but I plan on driving there.
I’ll be doing my walks again and will do my very best to stick to plan as best that I can. I do need to try hard to lose the three pounds that I need to so I can get the three stone award before Festival season kicks in!
Anyway, thanks for reading again. See you next week. 🙂
