Foo’s ‘n doos…

Apologies again for the lack of an update from last week. I went out last week to the biggest concert of the year so far. 60,000 people having an absolute ball in the Principality Stadium watching Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters rock the house.

The last few weeks have been very busy. I’ve been to two weddings and two gigs. John and Charlene got married, then I saw the mighty Skindred in Bristol. The Foo’s were up next and then it was the turn of Lauren and Tom to tie the knot.

Skindred rocked Bristol on the Saturday after John and Charlene’s wedding. We went over to the gig at around 1:30pm but didn’t need to go straight to the venue. The Dred started at about 9pm or so, therefore it was time for a beer beforehand. In fact, it was more than just a beer!

They absolutely blew a hole in the Dockside. They are most definitely one of the best live bands in the UK at the moment and their set was superb, full of surprises.

Foo Fighters in Cardiff

The Foo Fighters were absolutely fantastic. I’ve never seen them before and was so pleased to be able to see them play some of their huge hits. Dave Grohl is one of the nicest people in music and it really showed that he wanted to give his best. There was a near three hour set that just disappeared. It was amazing.

We had a beautiful day for Lauren and Tom. It started off a bit dull and grey but the sun came out and burned off the clouds. Usk Castle is utterly magnificent and I need to go back there for another visit.

After a couple of weeks away from Slimming World, I again wasn’t expecting much from this weeks weigh in.

Going back through the doors at Group this evening (where only three people turned out for the late session), I was of the opinion that I had put about three to four pounds on.

Infact, I’ve managed to maintain again. I had put three pounds on while I had covid but thankfully after the weddings and gigs, I’d managed to be good and had done enough between these events to keep the weight thereabouts.

I do however need to try to concentrate and look to lose a couple of pounds in the next week.

Next time…

So this week, I will endeavour to be the best that I can be. The problem with that is that I have a few more gigs to go to. Fury and Rites to Ruin on Thursday and then The Manic Street Preachers and Suede on Friday night. I will drive to at least one of these (probably Fury).

So the next couple of days I’ll need to try and keep myself honest. I will try to get out for a walk or two over the next day or so. I’m still a bit iffy after covid and even fairly short walks have been knackering. I will look to get the Thornhill Mile in a few times and perhaps the Lisvane Loop if I’m feeling energetic. I’m off to get the moss chopped tomorrow afternoon so may head down to the Reservoir and do a couple of laps after that.

My aim is to lose two pounds this week. I hope that while there will be enough time to get to that target.

Wish me luck!
