Hello, yes it’s me again. Another week down and another Tuesday weigh in.
So what do I have to tell you about this week? It’s been a fairly decent week to be fair. I’ve not been massively on plan this week and it’s been a bit difficult over the last couple of days. I don’t know why but I think that it’s mainly withdrawal from Scotland and a magnificent weekend sightseeing with Alex. All that fantastic scenery and company I suppose I’ve just been missing it really.
The new week
So, my week tends to start on Wednesday at least, the Slimming World week starts on Wednesday. Last Wednesday was I was a bit lazy. I was planning to go for a walk but things just got away from me in fact, the whole week, walking has not been a feature activity shall we say.
When I think about it, Wednesday last week was new computer day! I’ve bought myself a brand new computer which is pretty smart. It’s a decent computer that’s going to be good enough for a good few years now. My old computer was about six years old and it really was on its last legs. It didn’t boot properly had all sorts of issues that really meant that it was due for an upgrade. So that was my Wednesday, a new computer and lots of time setting it up to the detriment of the Thornhill Mile.
Thursday was an ok day. It was just a normal day at home. I got through the day (my first full day back in work this week) and it was just, well just okay. The new computer has kept me and in the house and I think it had just stopped me from heading out for a wander.
Friday was pretty much again just a general day of malaise. I again got myself through the working day. I don’t think much happened on Friday. I should be writing stuff down as it happens so that I can write it up on my Tuesday report!

The weekend.
Saturday was an evening out for little Sara’s birthday. We went to Bootlegger, a cocktail bar in Womanby Street. I didn’t go out until late and I took the car. It was about 6pm by the time I got out.
I collected Alex and Julian then drove into town. I did have a couple of Guinness Zero’s which when you’re driving and everyone else is on the proper beers are an absolute lifesaver. It does make you feel as though you’re having a pint even though when there’s no alcohol in it.
I suppose psychologically it makes a bit of a difference when you’re out. I had a few Diet Coke’s and a bit of a boogie in Fuel, then it was over to Caroline Street for chips on the way back to the car. I didn’t eat a huge amount and left quite a bit which is very unlike me! I didn’t get back in until about 4am after dropping my harem back home but it was a nice evening and did help cheer me up a bit.
Sunday was another lazy day. It was the Singapore Grand Prix so my usual Sunday afternoon took effect and sat me in front of the telly watching the Formula One. I did cook up a lovely roast chicken dinner and then it was just catching up with a bit of telly. That has really just been my week. Not the best and I think I need to do much more this week.
The tale of the scale.

So my visit to Slimming World tonight was really one that I wasn’t looking forward to because I felt that I hadn’t done as well as I’ve done over the last few weeks. My half pound on after Scotland was expected and to be fair after what I’ve eaten this last week I would have expected another pound on at least
So as it turned out what I’ve managed to do this week is to lose that half pound that went on after Scotland which please me no end and surprise me slightly. I did pack away some chocolate and crisps over the weekend and I know I shouldn’t have but it was one of those down moments again where food is the last thing you’re thinking of.
I was pleased to lose this week. There have been some new people in Group over the last couple of weeks and they have done massively well. I’d say that ther were a good ten or twelve people who stayed to group this week and as a group, we apparently lost 38 lbs in total!
I know that some people think that Slimming World doesn’t work or that it’s a complete rip off or it’s rubbish and it doesn’t you know it doesn’t make any sense but it definitely works.
Next time
So this week, I think I have to go all out. I would love to lose three pounds before my birthday. If I can do that then it would be three stone lost in total.
There is an obstacle in the way in the form of a Saturday gig in Newport. It is likely that there will be alcohol involved although I could drive. I’m not sure that I want to though this week so perhaps if I can have a good few days before the weekend and do some walking then that will assist.
The Consultant challenged me to walk at least five miles this week. That should be easy enough but then I didn’t manage that last week.
I’ll let you know how I get on. Wish me luck!
