Horror at Halloween

Thank you for your patience. I’ve had a couple of busy days and I’ve only just sat down to put the last week into words.

I must admit that I had a pretty good week. Work is work and that’s not going to change for a while si I crack on with the days that just seem to fly by at the moment.

I had a couple of walks this week. Llanishen Reservoirs on Wednesday. Two laps around the lower reservoir. Just under three miles completed in 52 minutes, then on Sunday I did the Lower Thornhill loop which was 2.5 miles, completed in around 45 minutes.

Thursday was a good day in Swansea. It was a good day and there was an amazing Baked Potato for lunch only a fiver for a massive spud with corned beef, beans and cheese. Absolutely delicious but quite possibly not the best thing to have on SW.

The Weekend

Friday was an epic road trip up to that there London. Lacuna Coil were playing at The Roundhouse, a venue that I’ve never been to before.

I love Lacuna Coil so had to take a trip to go and see them as it’s been a good few years since they were last on tour.

The hotel was very basic but it did have a kettle and tea in the room which was a very welcome thing after a four and a half hour coach trip from Cardiff.

There was quite a bit of beer involved in the visit and some lovely food although on the journey home I wasn’t feeling great. It was a rough trip back to be fair.

I was absolutely knackered. There was a plan to go to Fuel on our return to Cardiff but all I wanted to do was to go to bed and sleep! An Uber back home was on the cards.

Sunday was a nice quiet day. A quick walk before heading to Sainsburys to get my grub for the evening and a sit to watch an amazing Mexican Grand Prix.

Monday was an absolute nightmare. It was so busy in work that I hardly got very much done. Complaints to process and processes to explain to customers it was absolutely mad. Still the day was done.

Tuesday was a busy day although I was off. Mandy and her daughter had been away on holiday to Teneriffe. I had volunteered to collect them from Bristol Airport. Thankfully the flight was on time and they were home in Barry by around midday.

We had some food and I went to Iceland to do some shopping. Then it was off to Danescourt and time to face the scales of doom.

So I had hoped that I’d have maintained, despite the previous weeks shenanigans.

London beers, food and metal was all very nice but very off plan so stepping on the Scales of Doom it wasn’t really a surprise that I’d put on a pound over the weekend.

I think that perhaps the food earlier in the day may have contributed to that gain but only by half a pound maybe.

I wasn’t disappointed but it’s yet another week where I damaged my own chances at a bit of a loss and I have a few more weeks to get to the three stone loss before Christmas.

Next time…

So, the blog is slightly late this week. Hopefully I’ll be back on track next week. So far it’s been a good few days and I’ve got out and had some short walks.

I went to Cefn Onn Park yesterday and did the Thornhill Mile this evening.

At the weekend I’m off to Wellington to have an evening with Fiona. There will be a bit of food while I’m there but we will go out and do a couple of short walks.

I’m trying to aim for a two pound loss this week. I’ll try to continue the walks over the weekend and on Sunday / Monday.

It will be nice to break this stalemate so hopefully next week will be better.

I’ll let you know how it goes.
