It’s getting close now to the end of the year and that can only mean that Santa is checking his list for the first time. It’s six weeks to Christmas and that should be plenty of time to hit my three stone target.
Things have been okay this last week. I’ve tried to get out walking a bit more often and even though it is really only a mile or so, it’s been a better week in respect to the steps that weren’t taken the week before.
Wednesday last week was a good walk with Alex G. We took a stroll around Radyr and that was about 2.6 miles. I tracked a short wander on Friday, Monday and a brief wander at lunchtime today.
The main show
Saturday was time for Skindred in Bridgewater. A nice trip over the bridge to Somerset to support quite possibly the finest live band in the UK at the moment.
Julian, Cath and myself piled into Kylie the Kia and off we trundled down the M5. I think that’s possibly the fifth time since my birthday!
We had a few hours to kill before the gig so found a few pubs to visit once we’d found somewhere to park up, then it was over to the gig.
Skindred have been one of my favourite bands for ages and this performance was the fourth time seeing them live this year! They absolutely never fail to put on a great show and Benji us an amazing frontman.
As I was driving, I did have a pint but the rest of the evening it was either alcohol free Guinness or Pepsi Max.
There were some chips after the gig but I was home and tucked up in bed by half twelve.
Sunday was a nice quiet day. I did very little. Wales v Fiji on the telly and the less said about that the better! I cooked a lovely roast dinner.
I was a bit fed up with chicken so got a nice piece of pork. Possibly the best crackling I’ve ever made! Delish!
The tale of the scale.

I was quite hopeful that I’d managed to get a bit of a loss this week.
The walking that I’ve done, plus some decent meals this week I thought that I may have lost again.
So treading on the scales of doom, I was very pleased with a two pound loss this week.
I think that another good week this week and I could hit the three stone target next week.
There’s not much happening in the next few days so I’ll keep the walking going and will try to extend the walks to maybe take on another mile.
(Photo of Ozzy just cos I wanted to!)
Next week.
This week has very little coming up. I am out to a gig on Friday night. Going to see a band called Within Temptation at the Whatever it’s Called This Week arena.
Some symphonic metal will be good. I’ll be driving to the gig so again no alcohol for me and the rest of the weekend is going to be a very quiet one.
I will make sure that I do a good walk over the weekend. Perhaps I’ll take myself off somewhere different to have a good wander. I’ll see how it goes.
Will let you know.
