I’m not quite sure what exactly I was expecting this week. After last weeks shocking result, my mind hasn’t really been on plan or even much of an attempt to lose anything this week.
I managed three walks that I logged in the last week. I’ve covered around 7 miles since last Tuesday.
There are now just a few weeks to go to the big day. So far, ten days in to the month, a mince pie has yet to pass my lips.
Wednesday
For the first time in a very long time, I took a wander around Roath Park lake. I met Alex at the wild garden at the top of the park and we took a stroll down to the roundabout at the foot of the park. It was a nice walk but it was pouring with rain. We decided to sack off the rec and just went back up Lake Road East to the car.
I do have a decent winter coat that is very waterproof. The problem is that the rain pours off the coat and my jeans get sopping wet! I should have taken my waterproof over trousers too but thinking of things hasn’t been my forte recently.
We decided to go for a bite to eat after the walk. I was driving so kept to the Pepsi Max. I had a cracking piece of gammon and wait for it… a baked potato! It was very nice too.
It’s taken a couple of days but I do feel a bit rough. A cold has been threatening but thankfully it’s not come to much.
Thursday
I had an appointment with the nurse today. After my x-ray last week, the doc asked me too book in for a blood test and an ECG.
A very quick appointment where after a bit of prodding, the nurse finally found a vein so they could take the required amount of red stuff.
The ECG was a little less painful until they had to remove the stickies, taking a few body hairs with them! I was advised that the doctor would review the ECG and if there were any problems then he’d give me a call. So far nothing so I suppose no news is good news.
The Weekend
So, Storm Darragh was due to blow in over the weekend. I think it was really a case of battoning down the hatches and cwtching up under my rather lovely fleece blanket.
I did a quick shop in the morning ready for the rest of the week and then settled in to watch the last F1 Grand Prix of the year.
I hardly moved if I’m honest but to be fair, I wasn’t feeling very sociable anyway. The weather was rather rough to be fair, wet and windy. Even Ozzy was happy to stay inside!
Monday
A busy day in work yesterday but still went out for a walk after I finished. Covered about two miles again so all told, a good 7 miles. I’m looking to see if I can get that up to 10 miles by this time next week.
The tale of the scale.

So, after last weeks rather poor weekend, I had hoped that I would have lost a pound or two.
I had said at the last group that I wanted to lose the 3.5lbs that I had gained in the last two weeks.
I really thought that it was going to be a very big ask to do that in just seven days.
Stepping on the scales, I’m pleased to report that I managed to lose… Drum roll… Four pounds.
I’ve still now only got 1.5lbs to lose to get to three stone.
Next week
So, the plan is to attempt to lose this last 1.5lbs.
I will be looking to go for walks at least four times this week. I will look to aim for two miles a time and perhaps a bit further to up the distance.
The weekend does have a couple of events happening. Friday night is a Motorhead tribute band in Fuel and there’s a small gathering of folks that used to take the train to work back in the 90’s! That will be an interesting evening as we’re all 30 years older!
I will drive to at least one of these events, probably Motorheadache. I’ll stick to the Guinness Zero or the Pepsi Max.
Hopefully with a bit of walking and a load of boiled eggs then I can get to my target.
