Chillin in January

It has been a decent start to the New Year so far. With the exception of still having to work and not having won millions on the lottery, I’ve had a good couple of weeks.

Last weekend was quite off plan though with a weekend away in North Devon with a pile of good friends to celebrate Bethan’s big birthday.

While the plan was abandoned over the weekend, I did enjoy having a bit of buttered toast! Simple buttered toast and it tasted like heaven!

It was quite a long trip from Cardiff down to North Devon.

I collected Stevie, Dan and Gabor then headed off on a trip of around 2.5 hours through some remarkably hilly terrain!

The Airbnb was fantastic. Lots of room for all of us to sleep very comfortably. A huge kitchen, three bathrooms and a lounge with an awesome log burner.

It was a cracker of a weekend and while there was a bit of booze on offer, I maybe had about four cans in total. There was no need to drink just to chat, listen to music and play some very silly card games!

None the less, I did think it was going to affect my weight loss and while I didn’t gain, I didn’t lose either.

Thankfully I came away from the weekend with a maintain, despite the pizza and toast and garlic bread!

I was a fab weekend and I feel pleased to have been included and invited along as part of a select few to celebrate a wonderful, very mad lady!

Next week…

It won’t be a fantastic week this week. I have another birthday celebration to attend this evening and will be heading off to Pasture in Cardiff for Alex’s birthday tomorrow.

At the weekend I will be seeing Cardinal Black at The Tramshed so that will be a fantastic evening although again, I’ll drive to that one too.

I aim to get the walks in as well this week. I went for a little jaunt around Llanishen reservoirs this afternoon in preparation for a hefty meal this evening!

It’s been a good start to the year. Let’s hope for many more!
