The longest month ever!

Good grief, January has taken forever this year. Pay day was a week early in December so today is very very welcome, topping up the old bank balance.

Sorry for the lack of an update last week. I was at a concert in Bristol so didn’t get to group to weigh in. However, I did stick to the plan and was the designated driver for the evening. Lots of diet cola and a couple of Guinness Zero’s and a cracking band to watch.

My walking has been better. I managed seven out of seven days walking last week, although this week hasn’t been so good. I’ll go for a couple of laps around the Reservoir tomorrow. That should be a good three miler and a good start to the next week in the land of plan.

The Weekends

There have been some good weekends. January has been really good for events away from home.

There was my weekend in North Devon celebrating Beth’s Birthday and then there was an incredible gig at The Tramshed when the incredible Cardinal Black entertained 1000 fans with an incredible set of some amazing tunes.

Lasts weekend was a good one too. Saturday saw a double birthday celebration for Ali G and Gemma D. January babies usually suffer as they have just done Christmas and people paid early normally means that everyone is skint and stuggle to come and join in.

We went to Flight Club which is always a good laugh. I started well but tailed off towards the end of the hour. I did actually top the table at the end of the hour but despite that, it was a great afternoon.

We went on to Temple Bar for a Guinness Zero and then over to Turtle Bay for a little bit of food. I was quite good and had some of their small portions.

Over to Fuel then to round off the night.

The tale of the scale.

My plan for this year is to continue to enjoy spending time with my friends but not necessarily to drink lots of alcohol whilst doing so.

Where possible I’ll look to take the car and that will ensure that my alcohol intake is negligible if not completely tee-total!

I did have half a pint of a nice stout but no more than that. It wasn’t likely to have caused too many problems with the old weight loss.

As it happens, the loss before my weeks break was four pounds and this week, the scales registered another four pounds lost.

Half a stone lost in three weeks and I was really happy. I’m back to where I was prior to Christmas.

I’ve lost what I put on and a little extra too. I’m happy with that.

It gave me not only Slimmer of the Week but I also bagged Slimmer of the Month too.

This time next week…

I am very hopeful that I’ll be able to carry this trajectory on over the next month or so.

It’s going to be difficult this week as I’m heading off to see Alex in Scotland again. We’re planning on a trip to Glasgow and watching France kick the poop out of Wales on Friday and then a bit of a road trip on Saturday / Sunday. I think we may have to go and see her Mum who has just had a stay in Hospital for a few days.

I certainly hope that there will be a bit of exercise involved and a few miles wandered before the flight home late on Monday evening.

Anyway, I need to go and stock up with Welshcakes “for Alex”!
