Hello and welcome to another Tuesday evening!
And as it’s a Tuesday and that can mean only one thing, a recap of the last week in the world of slim.
As you know my week tends to start on a Wednesday which is quite nice as it’s a shorter day in work for me. It gives me an opportunity to have a quiet afternoon to myself, to do some shopping or go and get a haircut (Which I badly need!)
This week has been a fairly decent week and I’ve tried to get some wanders in. I managed five out of seven days and am pleased to report that the distances are starting to get longer.
I’m still getting that weird pain in my shoulder but I’m able to go further without it aching.
Wanderings
Last Wednesday I met Alex for a walk around my old stomping ground in Dinas Powys. I’ve not been that way for quite some time and it was nice to see how the place had changed. It was quite a good walk and took well over an hour. We managed 3.35 miles and I quite enjoyed it.
Thursday was my office day and that was in Swansea. I did do a short walk around the mouth of the River Tawe, just down from the office. Not a long walk, just over a mile but it was good to plan where I may go next time.
However, I’ll be leaving the Swansea team to come back to Cardiff and on to a new role on the Customer Collections Team. I get the feeling that this is going to be a very busy one.
I missed out on Friday. My Fitbit told me to take the evening off but I did head out for an hour on Saturday afternoon.
I had some fun on Saturday evening. I met Jonesy and Beth for a visit to the cinema. I’m a sucker for a good rom-com and Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy was brilliant. Loved every minute of it.
Beth and I had an hour or so in Fuel after the movie and when I checked the Fitbit in the morning, I’d covered 16000 steps!
Sunday was another walk. Just a fairly short wander, only 2.4 miles but not so bad. I followed up with a delicious Roast Chicken dinner.
Monday’s pootle was again 2.8 miles and I covered that in 54 minutes.
Today I was in the Cardiff office. I have to get used to the early starts, buses again and buying new music!
The tale of the Scale.

Anyway, how has all of this done for me on the Scales of Doom? After last weeks gain I had tried to watch what I was eating.
I did have some Guinness Zero on Saturday and a pack of popcorn at the cinema I didn’t have a load of chocolate as well.
I was quite pleased with the week in general.
It showed on the scale too.
This week I are mostly losing 5.5lbs. 1.5lb in the next week and this will get me down to the next stone bracket.
Very please with this week’s loss.
Next week
I’m not optomistic of anything this week. I’ll do my best for the next couple of days although I think that it’s going to be a tricky week.
Saturday is Rich and Lorah’s birthday celebration. The plan at the moment is to head towards town and try a few pubs not in the City Center.
Of course, there is the small matter of Wales v Ireland in the afternoon and while we don’t hold out much hope of a win for the home side it is still likely to be a busy one in Cardiff.
I’m still in two minds as to whether to take the car and try to continue my low-alcohol campaign. I am going to a Beer Festival in a few weeks too so I need to take that into account too.
I hope that a couple of walks in between though will assist me to get through it.
Fingers crossed that I can have a great week again.
