Marching On.

The last week hasn’t been great on a number of things. Thankfully, the Rugby was worse than my food!

I’ve tried to blog my walks this week, so have a look under the Wanderings Menu option. This will take you to the list of my walks.

As we all know, Wednesday is the start of my week. I had a good walk at Llanishen Reservoir. I’ve tried to log all of the walks that I’ve taken this week. Strava is rather good at doing this and has been fun with the 3D map flyovers!

Thursday

Thursday was an interesting one. I was completely off plan for the evening. I went for a meal with Alex G. We went to somewhere called Frankie and Benny’s. My god it was expensive and fecking awful.

Full of screaming kids and an extra loud burst of Happy Birthday! The food was absolutely gross and over priced. Needless to say I won’t be going there again.

Anyway, after that we went across the road to watch Mickey 17. A very odd movie but with an incredible cast. Mark Ruffalo was genuis as a Trumpian type of character. Really enjoyed the movie and the ice cream that went with it!

Friday

I think this was the afternoon that I fell asleep during a bit of a training session. I’ve been move over on to our Customer Collections Team and I’m learning the role. Must admit that I was a bit knackered in the afternoon and dropped off only for a few seconds but it didn’t go un-noticed!

I did head out for a walk in the evening but only managed a shorter wander. Just over two miles.

Saturday

I had a very lazy day on Saturday. I did mainly nothing but did head into town to watch Wales get comprehensively stuffed by England. I won’t mention the score but they went down heavier than the Titanic. I didn’t drink at the weekend. I suppose that I’d had my fill on our trip up to London last weekend.

Sunday

I was up early on Sunday morning. 3.30am to be exact. It was the first race of the new F1 Season from Albert Park, Melbourne, Australia. It’s good that Melbourne is back as the first race of the year. I always love getting up early to watch this race and what a corker this one was.

Back to bed at 7am after the race but went back with the feeling that I needed to do something. I’ve thought about attempting the Caerphilly Ridgeway Walk for a while. I was worried that I may not be able to make it up the hill as it is a fairly steep climb. I’m massively out of puff quite quickly so didn’t think it would be such a good idea.

However I managed the wander and hit my furthest walk of the year. Just a smidge under six miles. My pace was not quick which I think helped my shoulder. It did start to ache but after a short rest for a few minutes the pain subsided and I was able to carry on and finish my walk.

The tale of the scale.

Last week at Group I said that I was going to lose 4lbs this week.

After the cinema trip and Frankie and Benny’s then I was not that optomistic about a loss this week.

A distinct lack of alcohol this weekend definitely helped me get a 3.5lb loss this week.

That is a full stone since the New Year.

I was very pleased that the walking helped me with the loss too. I suppose that it gives me an aim and I now want to be able to head up Pen-Y-Fan again for the first time in many years.

That aim needs to be completed by the end of May 2025.

Next week.

I’m hopeful for another loss next week. I don’t have many plans for the weekend although will be visiting Treforest on Saturday for the afternoon.

I’ve decided that I’m going to be driving to save a few calories and a few pennies too. Guiness Zero to the rescue and maybe a 2l bottle of Irn Bru!!

Anyway. Wish me luck for a good loss again this week. I hope I can break into the next stone bracket and the 3.5 stone loss.
