Hello all. It’s another week down and my god, we’re already in June. A few weeks to the second half of the year and it will be Christmas before we know it.
It’s been a fairly quiet week to be fair and not very much has happened.
I did an Iceland shop on Friday after last weeks gain, I thought that I’d try and scoff free food and ready meals just to see if that might help. Quite nice but perhaps I could have skipped on the tortilas for lunch.
I did do a bit of a binge watch over the weekend. A Netflix series called Department Q. It was absolutely gripping and I was hooked for all nine episodes.
I went out for the evening on Saturday to see a chap by the name of Ernest Aines. Nope, you’ll never have heard of him.
He’s an Australian folk singer who produces some fantastic and gentle music that is proper chill out. Well worth a listen if you’re a bit stressed out.
The song Yellowstone was inspired by Sir David Attenborough.
I’m back in the office two days a week now. This means I’m up earlier than usual on a Monday and Tuesday to get the bus at 7am. This week was the first week in and good grief was I tired by Tuesday evening! I was in bed by 8pm and asleep!
I managed a short wander at lunch time on both days. Monday was a better day than Tuesday but I still managed to head across from the office, past Central Station and alongside the Principality Stadium, then back to the office. Just under two miles and it took around 40 minutes to complete.
I managed to find Duck number 99 this week too! Mandy hid 100 of them around the house when I went to Bloodstock last year. Most of them were quite easy to spot but this one has eluded me for months. God only knows if I’ll ever find number 100 or even if there are 100 so this is likely to bug me for the rest of my days!

I managed to get to see the Nurse at North Cardiff Medical Centre this week. I had been told about a referral to the Gym where I can be seen by a PT and given advice and a good plan to follow in respect to exercise. It’s a reduced rate and I can use the gym and swimming pool for I believe £20 per month rather than the usual £40 plus.
I’m hopeful that when I do get there then I can explain about the problems with my foot and my back. They maybe able to recommend some decent exercises to assist.
I walked from the Surgery on Excalibur Drive down to the pharmacy on Thornhill Road. So managed a couple of miles there and back to the house. My swim was planned for 8:30 at Maindy Stadium so I had a bit of time to put my feet up.
The swim was a good one. Not as many people in the pool as there has been recently but there were some rather slow swimmers in the lane that just got in the way! Still, Fitbit recorded 45, probably 46 lengths again which isn’t bad and about average for a 45 minute swim. Happy with that!
The tale of the scale.
So last week was a bit of a shock really. To put on 2.5lbs was very strange considering. When I went to group this evening, there were a couple of refugees from Danescourt there. Both of them had put on last week again one at least 2lbs and the other 4. I’m not so sure that the scales in the new group are calibrated differently to Rob’s scales. It could explain it!
However, standing on the scales this week revealed a half pound loss. Not great I suppose but at least its down again. I am hopeful that this trend continues and that the graph of no hope extends further on down.

Next week.
It’s likely to be a quiet one again this week. I do have our Staff party at the Principality Stadium on Saturday. I may however give it a miss even though I’ve bought tickets. It won’t be much fun going on my own but if anyone wants to accompany me then there are drinks and food tokens plus a bit of music and other entertainment there. I understand that Mel C is the big name but they also have booked Blue, Punk Rock Factory and there’s a DJ set from Huw Stephens.
I’ll get myself for a walk and will also head to the Pool again. Perhaps I’ll look to get there twice next week.
Another Iceland shop on it’s way so hopefully another loss next week.
As usual, I’ll let you know how it goes. 🙂
