It’s Thursday again. It’s been quite a boring week to be fair.
Friday was our department afternoon out. The management team booked Revolutions in Cardiff to provide the space to get the department socialising.
It was the start of the new week in Slimming World land. I was a bit worried that at the start of the week, I’d already ruined it.
It was a decent afternoon to be fair. There was food available and that was the usual buffet type of fare. Burgers, chicken strippers and then of course the beer. Quite disappointing as it was typical lager lout beers so not the greatest.
I left just after 5pm and got home just in time to watch the F1 free practice sessions from Candinadia.
The weekend
Saturday was another day where there were lots of beers. We didn’t get out that early and arranged to meet for 4pm at The Corporation Yard. Again, the venue wasn’t the best and there was a bit of live music.
I don’t know if it’s just cos I’m getting old but I really just want to go somewhere. Have a beer and chat with my mates. It seems that everywhere you go, there’s some busker singing Ed Sheeran songs. Fecking annoying!

We went on from there and headed up to The Robin Hood. A lovely little pub who much to our pleasure stocked Wye Valley beers. A couple of pints of Butty Bach was very welcome after the tripe that was served at The Yard.
We had a few hours there and then went to find the Pipes Brewery off Kings Road. Stayed there for a beer and walked back down into town and Fuel Rock Club for an hour or so.
Sunday was not the best of days. I stayed in bed for most if not all of the morning! The hangover was awful and I’ve not really missed that over the last few weeks.
Still roast chicken in the afternoon and then the Canadian GP in the evening!
The rest of the week.
I’ve not been up to much. Work on Monday and Tuesday. Nothing too exciting. Wednesday was my early finish so I went for a walk around the reservoirs and went for a swim too. Thankfully, the pool was quite quiet.
My fitbit didn’t track the whole swim for some reason and stopped with about 15 minutes to go. It had registered 39 lengths so I think that I could add an extra 10 on to that.
The Tale of the Scale.
So, I was not expecting miracles given the last weekend and the booze that was imbibed! The rest of the week was good but I must admit that for the first time in a long time, I bought some tiger bread! Oh my, that’s absolutely stonking.
It’s taken a week to go through it this time however! I would normally do it in a matter of minutes
So I was very pleased when the scales registered another loss. Only 1lb this week but it’s all good.
Another dip on the graph and only half a pound until the next stone bracket.

Next week.
There’s not very much happening this week. I have no plans at all for nights out and very little plans for much at all.
I will try to get out for a couple of walks. The weather is looking good for the weekend so I suppose I won’t have any excuses for not putting one foot in front of the other and getting my lardy arse moving.
The week ahead looks quite decent so more walking and hopefully a good week foodwise will give me the impetus to get that loss.
I understand that Alex G will be returning to group next week so that will give me some competition and a bit of motivation to try my best.
As usual, thanks for reading and wish me luck.
