So, I need to apologise for last week’s blog. I’d had a rough week one way or another and I just wanted to get to bed after I went for weigh-in and my swim.

This week has been better as it was a nice long Bank Holiday weekend and only a few days in work as I’m off half day tomorrow.

It was a great weekend, of course helped by the weather. Such a glorious few days with quite a bit of travelling and some good food and a small amount of alcohol.

We spent Saturday in Burslem celebrating the life of Lemmy Kilmister with a bit of live rock and roll.

What a lovely place Burslem is. Everyone was so amazingly friendly. The beer was good and between £4 and £5 a pint. Around of four beers for less than £20 anywhere is amazing!

It was a good day with quite a bit of walking and standing between the beers. I think that will certainly have assisted. The chicken and chips won’t but I did leave a bit of it, in fact Birchy had one of my bits of chicken!

The only disappointment for me was that there was very little mention of Phil Campbell’s passing and no tribute to him. Sad.

We rounded the evening off at a nightclub that played what we asked for. It was empty though so that helped!

Sundays journey home seemed to take forever though!

I’d planned a games night with Beth, Duff and Helen in the evening. So the bbq came out for the first time this year. Sausages, burgers, belly pork and loads of other little nibbles were delicious.

We played a game called Hitster and that went on for hours. I think it went down well and we’ll play it again soon. I may look to get one of the add ons for it.

Thankfully Monday was a Bank Holiday. I spent the morning catching up with the F1 from Canada. Always a great race and this one was no exception. So good to see Lewis Hamilton get on to the podium.

Tuesday was back to the office and Wednesday was my early finish.

I booked in with Sam for a haircut and then went to Specsavers to see if they could save my specs. I broke an arm off them in Burslem.

They had a spare set of the same frames so they just swapped the lenses. £45 but cheaper than having to buy a new pair.

I was in bed so very early last night. It was such a warm night but I felt so very tired. I slept quite well but have had a sore arm for a while. I think that I may have slept awkwardly.

The Tale of the Whale

So the challenge is nearly completed. Only four swims to go and it’s done. I’ll need to look for the next challenge and that may be finally a walking one. Perhaps a challenge to walk 30 miles in July. I doubt it will be sponsored but maybe later in the year I’ll complete a sponsored challenge.

The Tale of the Scale

So, even after the weekends shenanigans, I still managed a half pound loss this week. It’s not much but as they say in Tesco, every little helps.

I’m still not feeling massively motivated to be fair but I think that even though I’m not getting the results that I want at the moment, Slimming World is keeping me honest.

I need to change a few things in my life and the Gym is one of those things that I need to do. That and the odd walk or two.

I have plenty of volunteers to get me out and about.

Next Week.

It’s more of the same to be honest. I’m off to Bournemouth for a gig on Saturday and home late on Sunday. Back to work, swim and then hopefully a quiet one next weekend.

Enjoy this and I’ll be seeing them on Saturday evening.

See you next week.
