Last week was an absolute nightmare at weigh in. It really got me to a point where I wondered if Slimming World was actually for me.
My weigh went up by half a stone admittedly after a fantastic week with Alex and Skindred. I was utterly devastated and it really didn’t help as I felt a bit anxious when I went for my after group swim.
This last week hasn’t been too bad. After my weigh in, I felt quite deflated so I just wanted to scoff.
I resisted the chippy and was quite tempted to get a maccies but didn’t.
Mr Duffys birthday at the weekend was a good afternoon, evening and early morning out! Full of beer and some currywurst at The Project in Caerphilly. A cracking day with loads of great mates ending up in Fuel Rock Club and a taxi back home at 4am!

The hangover on Sunday was probably one of the worst I’ve had in a while but I realised that I had been drinking Rum which is never good!
I managed to lose my glasses too and that was going to be expensive! I managed to leave them in the Queens Vaults and thankfully they’d found them and put them aside behind the bar!
It’s been a week, trying to concentrate on the food side of things.
I batch cooked a bolognese so have been having that. Some Slimming World meals in the evening and my home made chicken tikka curry.
I’m avoiding the baked goods and trying to hide away from the crisps.

I’ve done a few steps this week and have already had two swims. A third one is planned after group and that one will put me back on track and half way across the channel!
A nice little walk to Cefn Onn Park in the sunshine yesterday helped not only with some vitamin D but also it dimmed the constant worry over the cost of being a single man living alone.
The tale of the whale.
Three swims this week. I never know when the pool will be busy or if I’ll get the pool all to myself. Monday was the late swim from 8pm until 9pm. It was a lot quieter.
Tuesday was a bit busier and Captain Slow was quietly drowning in the deep lane again. It thankfully went a bit quieter and I was able to grab a lane all to myself again.

I went after group this evening too and again it was quiet. Had the lane to myself again, just allowing me to crack on and get the lengths done. I counted 62 lengths but the Fitbit counted 66. I probably did miscount the lengths but I’m happy to say 62!

Halfway now to my 22 mile target. Only another six weeks to get this done and I’ll be in Calais. I may have to arrange to get there for real at some point this year!
The tale of the scale.
I hoped for a better week than last week and thankfully the scales of doom agreed. I had been out for a beer or two at the weekend but I have tried to be good for the rest of the week.

Thankfully, it has paid off and I lost 3.5lbs this week. Half of what I put on last week. If I can maintain this progress then I hope that I can get myself back to the place I was before my few weeks of debauchery!
I am pleased with that result and it has raised my hopes and spirits tonight.
Next week
There’s another weekend of beers on Saturday as I head to Bristol again to catch Adfeilion and Iman. I will try and watch the intake though and I believe that we’re heading back on the late Flixbus back to Cardiff.
I’ll try to stay on track this week. Another batch cook this weekend so I will try to keep to the plan for another loss next week.
