Mid May

It’s been a long old week in the world of slim.

Work has been mental. For some reason, we’ve had lots of calls for CCT. All new claims that tend to need to be actioned there and then.

However, I’ve tried to be as on plan as best that I could. There have been a few slips (including welshcakes and pizza) but that wasn’t the norm thankfully!

Friday afternoon was my team afternoon out. After a maintain last week, it wasn’t going to be a good start to the next week.

We went to Franco Manco and started the afternoon with pizza and some rather strong Belgian beer. Thankfully, we didn’t stay out long and I was home by 7pm. Not the best start but it could have been worse!

Saturday was another evening out. I caught up with Alex and Rich for the first time in a few months. Alex looked good and has been on the fat jabs for the last few months. She’s lost nearly two stone but she’s not sure how much longer she will be taking the jabs.

We had a couple of drinks in Head of Steam and ended up catching a train into the bay for a few hours at a Goth night down in a disused bank in the bay.

Thankfully a lift home and back in bed by 2am! It was a bit of fun but I’m not sure that I’ll go again.

Sunday morning I will admit to a slight hangover so I stayed in bed until gone midday. I did a bit of shopping and cooked a chicken with some roasties but didn’t turn the roasties and managed to scorch them to within an inch of their lives!

Monday was back to the office and the phones have been utterly mental all week. I had a quick wander through town at lunch time and then home. I tried the train home. I usually take the bus but I thought I’d give it a try. My colleague Mel takes the train and to be fair I was home by 5:30 or so. It may be an option for when our office days change in work. I may still be able to get to the World of Slim for 6pm if I get the chooch instead of the bus on a Thursday evening. It adds a few more steps to my day too! Had a lovely video call with Alex. That always cheers me up. 🙂

Tuesday was another office day. I lost most of the morning to meetings which really meant that the afternoon was going to be a busy one. I was late heading out to lunch which meant a shorter afternoon but it still flew past. I was a little longer getting home and was so tired that I had some food and was in bed by 7:30.

Wednesday was my short day, thankfully working from home. Busy yet again and I went over my shift by half an hour. Went for my second swim of the week too so the distance is adding up.

Thursday again incredibly busy on the phones. Lots of new CCT claims to process and it’s kept me from doing any post so those dates are creeping up. We so need some new blood on our team!

The Tale of the Whale

Two more swims this week and I’m now 70% of the way across the Channel. There is still time to sponsor me and get me over the ÂŁ350 mark. I’m hoping to get to that point if I can and maybe a bit more. I’d love to raise ÂŁ400. Click here to spare some change if you can butt or follow the QR code from your phone.

That would be amazing.

The Tale of the Scale

So the scales were quite kind to me this week, despite the weekend’s activities. I managed a 2lb loss this week and Slimmer of the Week. That’s not happened for a while so I was a bit chuffed with that. (Slimmer of the Week is awarded to the person with the most weight lost after a loss or maintain the previous week).

I was quite chuffed with that so will try and work on keeping the title next week! That may be a tricky ask but I’ll definitely give it my all.

Next Week

I have no plans at the moment for the weekend. There’s the possibility of a meet up with some old chums on Saturday afternoon but it won’t be a heavy one.

We have an Impact Day, volunteering on Penarth beach on Tuesday so that should be interesting, especially as the tide might be in!

Anyway, it will be a good week and I hope for another loss next week.
