Well, it’s been two weeks since my last update and I must say that it’s been a fantastic few weeks.
It’s been a tale of live music, lots of amazing food, incredible beer and even better company.
So it is no shock that weigh in tonight was going to be a bit difficult.
I could have swerved it and just not gone but I think that I owed it to myself to get back into the swing of things and try again.
So where do we begin? I missed out last week’s weigh in as I was up in that there London to see Skindred. The first of two gigs over the last week.
Straight up to Kingston and The Albion Pub. An afternoon drinking and then over to The Fighting Cocks with the owners of The Albion!

Skindred doing an acoustic set that we didn’t have tickets for but it’s quite nice to know some people and a chat with Benji before hand then bang, we’re in.
The second of the evening over at Circuit to see them do a full set was again fantastic.

Back home for a quiet afternoon and then up early on Saturday to collect Alex from the airport.
I’d booked us a lovely Bnb in Brixham that was absolutely incredible. A fantastic little harbour town on the South Devon coast.
Lots of lovely little restaurants and hidden bars. Fish and chips sent from heaven with unlimited chips and a view of trawlers offloading their catch at the wharf next door.

A bit of walking, although not much and visits to Teignmouth and Dawlish. Full clotted cream scones and ice cream on the front, then home and a Toby Carvery in the evening.
Monday was a visit to Caerphilly and a few more drinks. Followed by a pizza and another pint.
Tuesday was over to Bristol for the second Skindred gig. A set that was even better than Kingston but it felt like even more beer than before and some great Belgian Stoovlees (beef) and a massive glass of Bruges Zot beer.

It was a long bus ride home and a taxi back to Thornhill that’s stank of ciggies. Didn’t think they were allowed to smoke in taxis anymore.
I’m off all week and so I had quite a slow day on Wednesday, just recovering from the last few days.
I did a good few steps today as it was time to hit the back garden and get the grass cut, then it was off to Slimming World.
The tale of the whale.
So far this week, I’ve only done one swim. I went on Wednesday night and had a good quiet swim. I booked in for a swim after Slimming World.
I did go to the pool. Thursday nights have been quite quiet and I had hoped that it would be the same tonight. However, the pool was rammed and I tried but only managed to get ten lengths done before I had to give up. There were far too many people in the pool.
I have an excuse however, after quite a bit of mowing and sawing up those lopped off branches, my arm has been quite sore. It will be better tomorrow so I’ve booked another swim for tomorrow evening. Hopefully that will put me back on track.

The tale of the scale.

So I wasn’t expecting a loss and surprisingly it was going to be another gain. I wasn’t expecting 7lbs however.
It was worth it though as the last week has been magnificent but I have a bit of work to do this next week.
Next week.
So I have to make a concerted effort to have a good week. It’s not going to be too bad next week, although I do have a birthday event to go to on Saturday.
I will try and temper the weekend by watching my food and my Swip count. I’m back to the office on Monday so will look to go for a good wander at lunch. Same on Tuesday.
I’m doing a bolognese batch cook tomorrow and will finally look to get my Shepherds Pie done with the left over lamb from Easter that’s been in the freezer.
I hope that with effort, I can shift the gain back to where I was.
