Mid February 2026

The disappointment of putting weight on last week hasn’t best helped me with the start to this one.

I went shopping after the group last week and bought some food that was certainty not conducive to the World of Slim. Having scoffed that junk within an hour of getting it home I hoped that I had got it out of my system.

Regrettably not.

Friday came with an awful day. Not massively off plan but in the evening there was a beer and rum drunk. Food wasn’t too bad and I did have a few SW meals left in the freezer to get eaten. But my stupid head was still in charge and I completely failed at this.

The Weekend.

Saturday was off to town to watch quite a bit of Rugby. I met up with the boys at The Arms Park and started on the Guinness. That was just about 1.30 in the afternoon.

The rugby was utterly abysmal from both the RFC and Wales. Professional rugby that appears to be furthest from. However, the beer was amazing.

I had a lovely plate of Fish and Chips with bread and butter but there was a lot of standing and walking too although I doubt that would have cancelled out the food and beer.

Shame that there’s not much that can be said about Wales’ defeat to England but at least they managed to get themselves on the scoreboard. That’s probably one of the only positives of the afternoon though!

I ended up in Fuel but didn’t stay long. Just about an hour or so then I was home by 12:30am.

My Sunday was good and I enjoyed a lovely roast dinner. I was absolutely stuffed but tried my best to be as good as I could be at least for Sunday!

Monday was an okay day. Work was as bad and as busy as any time for the last few months. Not aided by my colleagues announcement that she was leaving the company for pastures new. It wouldn’t surprise if others aren’t that far behind her.

Food wise, I had a bit of chicken to use up so I made a chicken curry but not using the Mayflower Sauce. Some onions, tomato’s and some tikka curry powder. A bit of boiled rice and that was delicious. Made enough for lunch in the office on Tuesday. Monday involved a swim after work so 40 minutes in the pool.

Tuesday was hectic. I was on my own for most of the day so trying to keep my head above water was difficult. Thanks to the swimming, I think I managed it. However, I really felt that I was under massive pressure and all I really wanted to do was to go home and scoff.

I did too! But what I ate was all within my swips. I had sausage and mash with baked beans and my god there was a mound of deliciousness! I love mashed spuds!

Wednesday was again a hard day in work. They had a labelling day but by the time I was ready to go with it, I only had about two hours in which to get some done.

I finished quite early yesterday. It was a busy day but I did eventually finish. I was going to go for a walk and try out my new gadget but I didn’t manage it. I will give it a go soon.

The Tale of the Scale

I had a bad start to the week but I was fairly good for the rest of the week. I was thinking that it would be a gain again, especially after the beers at the weekend.

However, the scales of doom were quite kind to me and they registered a 1lb loss. That will do! Another loss and hopefully next week it will be a second loss.

Next week

There’s not much on this week thankfully. Wales are at home against France on Sunday night and of course it’s Valentines Day on Saturday.

So, there’s not a lot doing this weekend. Next week I do hope that I can maintain the loss. Another pound off will be nice and that gets me back to a three stone loss in total.

I’ll leave you with a band I recently discovered. I just picked up the album as just a bit of a random purchase. Quite glad that I did as it’s an absolute cracker.

Until next time….
