Pizza, beer and a Swimming Pool

So it’s a new week and again, not the best start.

At least there’s no beer this weekend and I hope that might help me with the rest of the week.

I did a bit of cooking on Friday so have enough bolognese sauce to keep me going for a while. I also did another Iceland shop so lots of Slimming World meals to keep me on the straight and narrow. However as things would turn out over the weekend then there was a lot of food in my fridge freezer!

Saturday was a quiet day. There were a couple of games of rugby on the telly. Italy v Ireland and Scotland v England. It’s always a good game for the Calcutta Cup and this was no exception. Scotland were so up for it and sent the English homeward to think again.

I didn’t go out so was home for the rugby. I must admit however that I was feeling a bit lazy. I should have gone for a walk but stayed in the warm and played a lot of No Man’s Sky.

I did get a bit snacky over the weekend. I bought some KitKats in Sainsburys that had been reduced to 22p for a pack of 8 two finger KitKats. There were four packs left on the shelves and how could I possibly have left them there the poor unloved Christmas choccies? I have been good with only one a day so there are plenty left.

Monday was an absolute nightmare in work with 23 calls taken. I had an hour break for lunch but by the time I’d taken lunch, the canteen had run out of baked spuds. So I had to have some teriyaki noodles that were GROSS!

I met my non-religious godson after I finished work. He’s just turned 18 and I promised him many years ago that I would buy him his first legal pint. He kept me to my word!

We went for Pizza and we had a bit of a wander through Womanby Street for a few beers. It was a lovely evening but I did feel as though I’d ruined the week as it was a very nice pizza!

Tuesday night and another day in the office. They had a pancake day special in the office. Eat a little scotch pancake in the fastest time. I managed 24 seconds. Double the time of the eventual winner!

I’d not done any food the night before as I was out with James so I went for a walk at lunch time and ended up in Cardiff Market. I bought quite a nice roll for lunch and sat in St John’s Garden to scoff it. Quite a nice day to sit outside and relax for a short while.

I booked a swim for Tuesday night and although I was feeling quite tired, I did get to the pool and it really lifted my spirits after another difficult day in the office.

I had a look at the Gym when I went for my swim. I’ve decided to give it a go. I need a good pair of trainers and some joggers to use and I’ll need to time it so that it’s quite quiet when I go so I don’t embarrass myself but I’ll add it to my regime.

Wednesday was my early finish day. Finished slightly later than planned and was ready just to settle in for the night to watch some telly. I had a call was quite fun. I went to a Comedy evening in Caerphilly. The comedy wasn’t up to much but it was good. It was in a bar called The Project and that was one to go back to again. I think Duffy is going to plan an afternoon there soon.

The Tale of the Scale.

I wasn’t expecting much more than a gain this week. Given the pizza, pancakes and kitkats I thought maybe 2lbs on.

Thankfully, the scales of doom registered a one pound loss so that was quite pleasing or should I say surprising.

Perhaps I need to put more faith in the in-between days rather than focusing on the bad.

Next Week

Wales take on Scotland this weekend.

I’m not going to the match but there is the annual students beer festival so I’ll be heading out to that one. I will try my best to be a good boy and I’m sure that there will be some walking and possibly rocking at Fuel later in the evening!

That’s going to be my only down time. I’ll book my swim for Tuesday and Thursday as usual and I will look to get to the gym for an hour on Wednesday evening.

I will of course let you know how I get on.
