It’s been a week of up and down, not just in the case of my Mental Heath to be honest.
A loss again last week was a bit of a help but after a poor weekend then the rest of the week has really continued along in that vein.
Friday night wasn’t so bad. Nothing on the telly so there was a bit of a lazy evening after work.
The Weekend
Saturday was good for most of the day. I headed out quite early on Saturday afternoon. I was meeting people for a few beers in the Student’s Union. We found a bench close to a telly so that we could watch the rugby and then back and forth to the bar trying some fantastic beers.
The night ended on a bit of a sour note however with people going their separate ways but for me, it felt like a weight had been lifted. There’s still some little things to be sorted out but for me it’s the end of the road.
Sunday was quite a quiet day. The hangover wasn’t fantastic and I didn’t get out of bed until the early afternoon. I was home just after 12am but was awake for an hour or two before heading to bed.
I didn’t even attempt to cook a chicken. Thankfully I had some bits in the fridge so was able just to do some chicken thighs and chips in the air fryer.
I had a lovely chat online with Alex and talked through the last evenings shenanigans.
The Weak.
Monday was back into the office and an absolutely diabolical day. I has planned to finish at 4:30 but had a call at 4:29 and had to stay on until gone 5pm. Unbelievable. I was going for a meal with Mandy as it’s her birthday this weekend coming. Finally got home about 10 minutes before she arrived. Had a nice evening catching up with her at the local Toby Carvery. It was a good old chat and it was nice to chat about her 50th and her next bit of surgery.
Tuesday was again back to the office. Had a poor day foodwise again with some choccies and cakes. I was able to take the half hour I lost yesterday and managed to get home slightly earlier. I had booked my Tuesday swim and had a nice few widths. About 42 minutes in the pool and 52 widths completed. Bear in mind that a width in Llanishen is about the same as a length at Maindy.
Wednesday is normally my early finish but they wanted us to be available for a Department Update. They’ve discovered that the changes that they made towards the end of last year haven’t worked. They still can’t understand why we’re getting even more contact than we ever did. I could suggest a couple of things and have previously but as I am a mere minion, my views and ideas are never listened to.
I was going to go to the Gym this evening but went to Sainsburys and fell asleep when I got back.
Did a bit of cooking and that was the end of my day. I will get there soon. I’ve bought the shorts so that will be a waste if I don’t.
Today (Thursday) has been another disappointing, busy and frustrating day.
Eight calls by 11am so an absolute shite of a day. I’ve been okay with food today and a number of pints of water but I’m still not feeling optimistic for weigh in later.
Got a swim booked in for after group but I’m in desperate need of something to smile about at the moment.
I may look at booking a week off and head somewhere on my own for a few days.
The tale of the scale.

The graph is on its way back up again. 2.5lbs gain this week and it’s no surprise. I have been diabolical this week and need to be absolutely ruthless over the next week.
I doubt that’s going to happen as I am off out on Saturday night but I’ll try to stay as close to plan as I can.
No rugby this weekend but it’s Rich and Lorah’s birthday celebration so I expect that shots are more than likely.
Next week.
Next week there are no challenges. I will get to the pool as usual. I will look to get to the gym and will try and make some extra effort.
