Marching On…

Another week down and I’m still feeling a bit rough. I am however heading to group this evening.

I’ve not had the best of weeks. I had booked myself a long weekend for the Australian Grand Prix. I always love to watch the race live and as it’s Australia then it’s first thing in the morning.

However, the dreaded lurgy has manifested itself just in time for my long weekend.

I managed to stay awake for the first and second practice sessions. Then it was back to bed.

Saturday morning was Qualifying. I missed free practice three but was awake at 4am for the Qualy session.

It was a very unbusy weekend for me. I had no booze but did have a few bits and pieces that would not normally have helped on plan.

Sunday was up to watch the race at 5am. I’m not quite sure what to make of this new era of F1 but it was only the first race of quite a long season.

I always though that DRS was false racing and it seemed that the lead changed again and again thanks to the battery power. The race seemed to settle down after the first stops of the race. Ferrari could have had the race

Most of Sunday was spent in bed as this cold really has again knocked me for six. I did get round to doing the usual roast chicken so that was good.

The week has been quite lazy. I had Monday off too but most of that was spent just trying to stay awake after the F1 weekend.

I’ve not been for a swim this week as I’ve just not felt up to much. I should be getting some practice in as I’m due to start my challenge in about a week or so.

Just in case you didn’t know, I’ve signed up to raise funds for Diabetes UK by swimming 22 miles in 12 weeks. I’ve done the maths and it’s going to take about 1400 25m widths of the pool. About 60 widths per swim over 12 weeks. Not impossible and I’ve broken my fundraising target without even putting my toe in the water!

The Tale of the Scale.

I didn’t get to SW last week thanks to the cold and given how poor I thought my food had been, I was expecting a bit of a gain when I stepped on the scale.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had lost 2lbs. I think that was probably down to not feeling all that well. I don’t think it had affected my appetite much to be honest but I have tried to keep my swips in check.

No alcohol over the weekend will have been a good thing and another weekend of that would be good.

Next Week

Rugby at the weekend may be a bit iffy but my plans are to drive into town and to a gig in the evening. Hopefully that will save a few swips for the weekend.

Swim’s are booked in for next week and I’ll be starting the challenge the week after next. So I hope I can get shot of this cold by then.

Wish me luck!
