It’s been a very flat sort of week this last week. I did go out on Saturday (more about that later) but for the rest of the week, it was a very quiet one.
After last weeks gain, I was absolutely determined to ensure that I had a loss. I needed to be on my bestest behaviour.
I decided to do some cooking on Friday evening. I made a magnificent Cottage Pie. One of my absolute favourite meals.

Half fat cheese on top and in the mash, mince beef, carrots, peas, onion and a stock cube with a dash of Worchechesta Sauce.
I can’t resist it and had half after it came out of the oven all piping hot! Delicious and mostly free on Slimming World (maybe a few syns for the cheese).
Saturday was a night out. Started at about 3pm at The Traders Tavern. Went across then to the Cinema to see Spinal Tap 2. Very funny film. Recommended.
After the movie, we headed to the Bay for little Sara’s pre-birthday birthday drinks. A few hours at Eli Jenkins in the Bay. Lovely to catch up with her and the Goth’s that were out being miserable for a few hours later on.
We then headed up to Fuel for another few hours and a jolly old dance. I got home at around 4am and thankfully hadn’t touched a drop.
I took the car so ended up giving everyone lifts around town and then a lift home.
Sunday was a lazy morning and then a lazy afternoon playing computer games. I did a roast chicken dinner just for me. Plenty of chicken left over so it was a curry on Monday evening.
I really wanted to chuck in the towel on Monday. Work was an absolute nightmare as we’d been asked to get on the phones. Lots of calls in the day and absolutely no chance of pushing any of my files closer to settlement. Most of the rest of the week has been pretty much the same.
The Tale of the Scale.

So, after a few disappointing months, I had a great loss of 5.5lbs. After last weeks weigh in and the gain from all that amazing Scottish beer and grub, I must admit to being very pleased with myself.
All I need to do is to replicate that again next week and then I’m back on track and where I was before I lost Ozzy.
Next time…
I’m hopeful for another good week. I’ve got another night out on Saturday but will be driving again. If I want a pint then I’ll look for a good Guinness Zero so it feels like I’m joining in with a pint but it’s a bit cheaper and much less calories.
Anyway, I will leave you with the news that Paradise Lost have a new album release tomorrow and here’s a taster. In the best tradition of Spinal Tap, turn it up to eleven!
See you next week.
Phil.
