Evening all.
Jeebus, it’s nearly the end of September and for me, only a few weeks to the end of another rotation around the Sun. I’ve remarked about this before but I can’t believe how fast time is going.
I suppose when you’re a kid, the years just seem way off in the distance and as you get older, there aren’t that many years left so they get (in your head), faster and faster.
I will own up to having had a major brain-fart this week though. Last week in work was an absolute nightmare. Phones have been turned on for our team and I’m having to use the new system that is confusing at best.
After work one evening I decided to book an online shop from Iceland as usual. I think that my usual brain cell was busy so I had to use the backup brain cell that had basically forgotten how to function normally.
There were loads of offers like 10 items for £10 and six items for £8 etc so my autopiloting brain just clicked and clicked.
The delivery came on Friday evening after work had finished. I realised that I’d utterly buggered up when the first bags off the wagon contained three 3l bottles of Pepsi Max. Not so bad. The second bag contained four 2l bottles of diet Coke.
The next few bags contained packets of crisps and lots of fish fingers. There were some Pitta breads and some wraps but mainly junk.
The start of my new SW Week was simply not a good one and it just goes to show that if you want Phil to buy you stuff with no thinking involved then do it after work on a Friday evening.
The Weekend
Saturday wasn’t a great day. Friday night’s debacle continued into the weekend. I went to do an Escape Room with Alex, Lindsay, Richard and Lorah. A fun evening with some good mates.
We met up at The Head of Steam. I took the car so I wasn’t drinking. I did find a very nice alcohol free stout that was Chocolate and Honeycomb flavoured. To be fair, for alcohol free it was pretty good but I’d think that the syns weren’t great.
Then it was on to the food. I asked for a small plate of nachos with chilli. What turned up was a small plate but it was properly stacked with nachos and chilli and cheese!

The escape room was a bit of fun though. As you can see, we made it through by the skin of our teeth. We stayed out for an hour or so after but not too long. I headed home to yet another packet of crisps.
I started to pull things back on Sunday. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix and a roast chicken dinner was the order of the day and very nice it was too. Of course, the chicken did for three meals although it would have done four if my little furball was still here.
Monday was back in the office so it was really the start of the fight back. My lunch on Monday was a couple of ham rolls. I didn’t go out at lunch time where I should at least have wandered down the road.
Tuesday was a better day but it did involve a few biscuits and some doughnuts all self inflicted. The day was a nightmare. I didn’t leave the office until 6pm and by the time I got home I was absolutely knackered.
I was so tired that I just couldn’t even type messages on my phone. I slept from 10pm to 7am right through. I’ve not had that much sleep on a weeknight for ages.
Wednesday was my early finish. I should have gone out for a walk but I was just far too tired from the previous day. I spent most of the day binning photos from my Google Photo’s storage. I did go for a swim later in the evening but I’m getting frustrated with that.
I’m not fast enough for the medium speed lane but am too fast for the slow lane. The pool is closed for other uses and opens up again for 50 minutes from 8:30. I think that’s probably why it’s suddenly become far busier that just a few short months ago.
The Tale of the Scale.

So I flat lined this week. No gain and no loss. I’m quite happy with that after the way that the week started for me. Still a maintain was better than a gain that I could have had given my idiocy earlier in the week.
Next Time.
This week I’m hopeful that I can get a loss. I’ve not got anything happening in the next week. The weekend should be quite a lazy one.
I’ll see if I can get out and go somewhere for a walk. I may see if I can get in the car and go somewhere just to get some fresh air rather than sitting at the computer all weekend.
I hope the weather is good.
