Last of March

Not the best of weeks this week. Had a poor start to the week with some beers and the rest of the week has just gone downhill from there.

I think that I realise that I’m now suffering from stress and anxiety. That is blocking me from concentrating on my efforts at weight loss.

Despite sitting in group after the weigh in and seeing the success of others, my yo-yoing journey has not been great and I’m now considering just giving it up completely.

I’m just throwing money away. Where the plan has worked for me before, it’s not working anymore and if I can’t concentrate on staying on plan then I probably just need to give up.

That’s not me though. I don’t give up and I don’t like to admit defeat but sometimes I suppose you have to.

Friday was a good night. I did have a few beers and saw a gig at Clwb. Enjoyed it very much but should have driven in.

Saturday and Sunday were a bit quiet. Had a good Games Night at the Duffys and enjoyed that. There was a vegan chilli cooked and that was very nice. Obviously full of veggies so it should have been good.

Sunday was a roast dinner and that is normally good but perhaps I’d added a bit too much oil in cooking so I need to watch that in future.

Monday was in the office so I suppose I had limited access to grub. Lunch time was a baked spud with beans and a bit of cheese and a short walk through Town.

Tuesday was again in the office but the rain and wind put me off going for a walk and I went as far as Tesco for a meal deal. I should have gone for a longer walk but that was not great.

Wednesday was at home. I only work until 1:30 and then get the rest of the day to myself. I had a quick mayflower curry before heading out to see Project Hail Mary which was incredible.

I did have a tub of popcorn which wasn’t the best but I genuinely think that it adds to the enjoyment of a cinema visit if you want a little treat.

The Tale of the Whale.

Tuesday evening was the first Swim in my 22 mile challenge 60 widths of Llanishen pool was achieved in about 46 minutes.

I’m off to complete Swim 2 after group this evening. I hope to do the next 60 and that puts me ahead of target but not by much.

The Tale of the Scale.

However as you’d expect it was a gain this week. 2.5lbs on.

Very disappointed to see another gain and the saw toothed graph heading again in the wrong direction. Yes, I’ve changed the graph just to show how 2026 is going in the World of Slim. I thinking that it should give me a more pleasing insight into how the year is going!

I’ve got a couple of S.A.S. logs to complete this week and it may give me some ideas of where I need to concentrate when I can.

I also need to try and add more free foods to my meals and speed ones too which may be tricky. Beetroot will probably be the best thing to add I will look to add more boiled veg rather than air-fried stuff that is likely to have some oil (even just sprayed) on it.

I will try and get my head back to pre-pandemic levels again.

Next Week

It’s the run up to Easter next week. This means easter eggs (upwards of 70 swips) and hot cross buns galore (12 swips).

I will do my best to avoid these at all costs. Only three and half days in work next week but will ensure that I get my swims in before the weekend.

Will see how it goes.
