I’ve had a few weeks of just massive stress as work has not been great. Lots of work to do and not enough time to complete it.
This week has been a bit less stressy as someone had deleted our team from the telephone system and we’re not able to access the phones. It has meant a lot more walk ups and Teams messages but it has given us time to work on what we need to do and we’ve been in a position to concentrate on some of the trickier claims.
After last weeks gain and my mini meltdown it was back to normal on Friday.
I had some SAS logs from group and the intention was to complete them with noteing absolutely everything down.
It started well during the day. I logged absouletly everything down and noted the “Swips” and measured stuff like my breakfast cereal and milk.
The evening was a different matter however. I was off to see Hawxx at Fuel Rock Club. A female led punk rock outfit. I’ve seen them a few times over the years and while I’m not a massive fan, their sets do seem to be getting better. Even with Fuel’s notorious sound system, they sounded good.
It started out however at Tiny Rebel. I did take the car so wasn’t planning on drinking. I did have a pint at the start of the evening though and a plate of their Rebel Fries that are essentially loaded chips. A nice evening with Hawxx’s set being cut quite short.

The rest of the weekend was quite quiet to be honest. I didn’t get out and perhaps I should have at least have gone for a walk. The weather was quite decent so I missed out on that. 🙁
Surprisingly, I didn’t do a roast dinner on Sunday. I was awake early again for the Japanese Grand Prix from Suzuka. Not the best race but another win for Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes. I was back to bed for a few hours afterwards and then just another waste of a day.
Monday was back to the office. Another decent day as there were still no phones. I went for a wander around town at lunchtime, across to Central Square, past the Principality Stadium, back down Queen Street and then Charles Street to the office.

Tuesday was again back in the office for a Department Update and a training course on a new system. Picked holes in it already, especially for our purposes and we’ve not even started using it yet.
The Tale of the Whale.
Tuesday was a swim day. Swim three of my challenge to do 22 miles (or the length of the crossing from Dover to Calais). It was quite busy in the pool this evening but I still managed to get 62 lengths in. I wanted to do 60 but I was a bit hesitant over the number of lengths I’d completed.
I’ve got it down to a bit of a fine art now though. Three times 20 lengths and that’s me sorted. However not being massively confident in my accounting abilities then I always feel that I need to put an extra couple of lengths in, then check it later to see what the Fitbit registered.

My Swim on Thursday was even better. When I booked, there were only a few slots available. However, when I got to the pool, I had the entire lane to myself for the entirety of my swim. I must admit that it was an absolute joy not to have to dodge slower swimmers and not getting a mouthful of pool water everytime a front crawler ripped past me. I hope next Tuesday’s swim will be just as quiet.
So week two and four swims in. I’m nearly four miles out into the English Channel.
The Tale of the Scale.

I’d given up hope of having any sort of week this week. I have in the past had worse and still lost. I’ve bought myself an apple corer and slicer. I also bought some apples just in case. I’m not sure why I don’t eat more apples as I do like them but I think for me, sliced is more appealing.
Anyway, I think I must have had a fairly decent week as the gain from last week was cancelled out. A 2.5lb loss this week and I think that while the swimming has helped.
Next Week.
It’s not going to be a very easy week to be honest. Of course it’s Easter Bank Holiday so it’s pouring with rain.
I’m off to see Gnome at Clwb Ifor Bach tomorrow and that is likely to be a bit of a riot. Loads of dancing and therefore steps!
Sunday is Easter Day so I will be doing a roast dinner. I have had a piece of lamb in the freezer for a few weeks and that is something I’ve been looking forward to. There will be Shepherds Pie for a week afterwards!!
Two swims again next week and no other distractions from the plan should keep me going until the middle of the month when I have a week and a bit off with a few distractions that may not help.
Wish me luck.
