Half life.

My week didn’t really start that well. I mean it was a great night out last Friday.

My department had their summer barbecue at Revolution in Cardiff. A Friday afternoon where the drinks did flow and the food did food. I was going to try and be as good as I could be but once I sank the first pint, I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to control what went in.

It wasn’t just the afternoon. That turned into an evening which turned into a night which turned into a fairly early morning. That turned into the hangover from hell. I didn’t even have a shower on Saturday!

Sunday was a bit of a day. Another visit to the Mum. Now my mum doesn’t cook anything anymore unless it’s a convenience meal. So we decided to go out for lunch again. Needless to say, there were chips involved and a rather delicious burger.

I lost it big time on Sunday. On the way home, I grabbed a bag of crisps and a pack of the Thornton’s Millionaires Shortbread. I scoffed the lot. I enjoyed every morsel too.

So it’s unlikely to be a shock that the Scales of Doom registered a gain this evening.

So it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I knew that I was going to have a tough old week. I’d said that I’d be looking at a maintain in group last week. I did put half a pound on, whereas after the weekend I was convinced that I’d put four on at the very least.

I did manage two walks this week. One on my own around the block on Tuesday and then last night a lap of Roath Park and the Rec with Alex. Both walks were around 5k and I can seemingly do that in about an hour or so. I do need to try and up the speed.

Alex really wants me to start running a bit. I’m not too sure though. I still think I’ve got a bit of weight to go before I start clodhopping around the park! Still, she’s insistent that she’s gonna get me running before long!

So the week hasn’t been fantastic. I’ve got no plans that may shunt me off plan this week. I hope therefore that I can do at least 2lbs off this week. Perhaps maybe even three.

Go for it Gilesy.
