Tuesday again.

Good evening everyone, I hope that you’ve all had a good week. It’s Tuesday yet again and it’s time for the latest report from the world of Slim.

So this week has been an interesting week. I’m into my third week on the Vectus teamand I’m still not really enjoying the job. I don’t feel as bad as I did whilst having to deal with the new system as well as the worry that I’m going to be disciplined for my lack of speed.

I’ve not really done a massive amount this week. I’ve not been walking much and I’ve had a very sedentary time of things just sat on my arse again. My weeks are starting to get very bland again. I spend most of the time working and once that’s done I just sit and watch the telly. I need a hobby that will get me out of the house and start doing stuff.

The weekend that was.

So on Friday, I finished work and sat down for a fab chat with the lovely Falkirk Alex. It was a calming quiet couple of hours and I had a lovely chat. She had a beer on the go so I joined her with a milk stout for the duration of our chat. Not blaming her but I think that probably started me off on the slippery slope for a while.

On Saturday. It was the Gin and Rum Festival which was bloody awful to be fair. We started off at about 3:30pm and went to the Pen and Wig for a few before we went to the event.  We didn’t get to the festival until about 7:30, so you can imagine there were a few sunk at the Pen.

We got to the festival and it was so very disappointing. It wasn’t great because it was so bloody expensive. £6.50 per drink plus £25 for a ticket to the festival which was a bit of a rip off to be fair. I wasn’t impressed with it at all so if there’s another one announced for Cardiff that I’ll bother going again because well it was pretty dire.

But my problem I think on Saturday was not the booze but what I ate. There were a few beers sunk but there was a lot of eating as well. I had gammon and chips at the pub and then later in the evening a pretty hefty burger and fries from Burger King.

Despite a walk on Sunday and a fairly decent day yesterday and today in work. My diet has been sort of okay. It was a bit disappointing when stepping on the Scales of Doom (TM) at group this evening, I had managed to put on half a pound again.

It doesn’t sound like much to be fair, but its two weeks on the trot now where a half pound gain has has made an appearance.

A pound over two weeks isn’t too much to worry about but I’ve disappointed myself that I haven’t been strict enough to avoid a gain.

I need to be a bit more careful with the food that I’m eating, what I’m eating, when I’m eating it and you know… where.

Next week.

I think that I need to take a step back this week. Have another look at where I am with the food I’m eating and also the amount of exercise. It has completely gone out of the out of the window. I’ve not walked anywhere apart from being dragged out on Sunday evening.  I made an excuse that I didn’t go out last night because it was raining. Rob the SW Consultant pointed out that it rained for about 15 minutes.

So the plan for next week? I do have a team afternoon out on Friday, however, it is in Swansea. To get there is either by train or car.  I think that what I’ll do is to drive and take the car. That means, obviously, I won’t be drinking but there may be food involved so I’ll have to see how best I can deal with that.

Friday evening is a Thin Lizzy tribute band (Limehouse Lizzy). That’s in the Tramshed. I did see them last year and had a brilliant evening watching them. It’s gonna be a longish day on Friday so by the time I get back into Cardiff it’ll be 6:00 o’clock maybe even close on 6:30pm.

There’s no plan for the weekend after Friday evening. Therefore I will look to go out for a walk or two. I’ll take some water with me and if the weather is good then I’ll head up to Ridgeway to attempt that walk for the first time in a few years.

I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for reading my crap again.
