If I Could…

Hello everyone how is it Tuesday again? It’s just coming around so very, very, very, very, quickly now! Of course you know what Tuesday means. A new recap of the last week and an idea as to how well (or not) I may have done at Slimming World.

So what’s been happening to me in the last week? Well there has been a lot of food, a certain amount of alcohol and a lot more food so it’s not been the best week I’ve experienced foodwise but I’ve had a bit of a cracking week.

I’ve started to do a bit more walking so if you’re following me on Facebook, you’ll see that whenever I go for a walk I try to track the walk and will post it to Facebook. Wednesday last week was my half day off so I decided to do a bit of a walk I went to Llanishen Reservoir. So from the house down to the reservoir, a lap around the reservoir and then back up to the house. I think that’s the longest walk that I’ve done so far. It was about four miles in total so that wasn’t too bad. I’ve also done the Thornhill Mile a couple of times and it’s not just a mile now. It’s 1.4 miles, nearly a mile and a half as I’ve discovered that if I go through the estate rather than straight up the street and back down I can add another near enough half a mile onto to that walk.

Wednesday evening I was a bit naughty. I went to Pizza Express in Cardiff Bay and I had a lovely meal with my Laurie-Ann who was celebrating her 30th birthday. A cracking eveining but the start of a very off plan week. Lot’s of bread which I’ve been avoiding whilst on the plan. Pizza, Garlic Bread and Doughballs was not a great idea but I thought, given my walk earlier on in the day that it wouldn’t do too much damage.

Last weekend

Friday was a great day. Skindred live at Wembley Arena. A new part of the country for me to see. A lot of  walking and on my feet through the gig.  There was quite a bit of beer on Friday night but that was really it for the weekend.

On Saturday we went back into Central London but neither of us really fancied anything to drink! Seriously, lots of Diet Pepsi and some food sat in a pub watching the most awful Welsh Rugby perfomance that I’ve ever watched. It was literally back to the hotel to watch the other games and that was Saturday done! God I’m getting old!

Sunday was the bus back to Cardiff. Four arse numbing hours on the Megabus. Not the greatest day but overall, the trip was was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So where did that leave me?

The Tale of the Scale.

I knew I hadn’t had a good week and it was pretty obvious that I was going to have a gain this week.

I was wondering whether or not it was going to be 3 or 4lb gain or whether I was gonna put that entire 5lbs back on that I lost the the week before.

I was quite please then when the scales of doom registered just a 1lb gain. Not so bad I suppose. I’m not too disappointed, I knew it was going to be something of that nature and considering what I ate in the last week, the alcohol and everything else it wasn’t a surprise.

Next week.

So next week, I’ve got a couple of days to try and get a few walks in if I can. I’m off to get my haircut tomorrow afternoon but I think on the way back from the from the barbers I’m going to go down to the reservoir again and do a couple of laps. I think that should be a good two miles or so. That should be a fairly decent walk.

Thursday then I will try and get out at lunchtime and go to walk The Thornhill Mile. Then on Friday I need  to be up extremely early in the morning about 2:30 and  I need to leave at around 3:00 in the morning to go and get my chums so that by 5:00 in the morning I’m going to be in Bristol airport waiting for a flight to bonny Scotland.  After four days up in Edinburgh with with the gang I don’t see a loss next week either!

I get back late on Monday night so it’s unlikely that I’ll be able to get out for a walk on Monday but perhaps on Tuesday I can get out for a little wander before Slimming World again.

We’ll see how it goes. Anyway. Thanks for reading my waffle again.
