Bloody hell it’s February!

“Oh my Christ”, as Pam would say to Mick. It’s flipping February already. There’s only a couple of months to Christmas now.

There was a gig this weekend. Black Stone Cherry and The Darkness were playing at the Cardiff International Arena, just a stones throw from my office in Cardiff. So, rather than suffer the squawking Justin Hawkins, we went to the King Kraken album launch gig at The Redhouse in Merthyr Tydfill. Good to get out of Cardiff for a few hours.

The Redhouse is Merthyr’s former Town Hall. It was derelict for years but has been given a new lease of life as a community hub and a concert venue. I’ve seen a few gigs up there recently, in a beautiful old building.

King Kraken

After the gig ended, I drove back into town and went to Fuel for a few hours. It was nice to be out but by about 1.30am I’d had enough and headed home. It was good to catch up with a few faces that I’d not seen for a while.

Saturday saw the announcement from Steelhouse that Black Stone Cherry are to headline Sunday Night at the festival so this year’s Steelhouse is looking like a corker with the amazing Airborne headlining the Saturday night. I cannot wait for that one.

Holibobs?

I’ve not done much travelling in my life. I had to go to Belgium last year. After Bloodstock, I took a few days and went to visit my brother in Gent. Well, he was never going to come over here! It was just three days but enough to see a beautiful city and to catch up with my Ex Sister in Law, Els and my wonderful nieces Emily and Sara.

April see’s a weekend in Edinburgh. There are four of us going up and we’ve booked a nice looking Airbnb there. Plenty of space for a room each for three nights. Lots of beer and deep fried things will be consumed no doubt. I may need to book a second seat on the flight home. 🙂

Then later in the year I was thinking of going a bit further afield this year. A week on an island in the middle of the Atlantic could be fun! Just need someone to come with me and an extra someone to look after the flippin’ cat whilst I’m away! Volunteers for both positions email me at iwilllookafterozzy4u.com

Health ‘n shit…

So I had the results of the bloods that they took last week. All is clear although, they do want me to go back on the double blood pressure tablets. I’ve been taking just Amlodipine for this and they asked me to go back on Perindopril. My last check up with them was in 2021 and that’s when they put me back on the Amlodipine. I’ve been checking my blood pressure and while I had said that I wanted to go to the gym, it was suggested that I give time for the meds to start doing their stuff before attempting to exercise.

I’m looking forward to starting the walks again this week with Alex. We were both under the weather last week so we had to put it off. I’m feeling a bit better now so hopefully, it will happen.

Lurve…

I wish I could tell you that all was well with matters of the heart but as per usual there’s no advance there. However the previous tenant has been in touch via email again. I’m not sure if I should actually use some of her words in my next dating profile to be fair!

“you are the best guy I have ever met. You are better than most men out there. You have so many amazing qualities, plus gorgeous eyes, lips, chest and arms to give the best hugs. I really wish I could let you see yourself how I see you. Your kindness and compassion and unselfishness are a very rare gift. Any woman is very lucky to have you, please know that. You are worth it, just as you are.”

With Valentines Day approaching fast, I am still available for kisses, cwtches and cuddles ladies! 😉

This week…

Well, the Six Nations is with us again. We got off to an abysmal start on Saturday, losing to the Irish who are putting on an amazing defensive and attacking show. We had some moments but we were never going to win the game.  Fantastic to see the Stadium full of people again. The atmosphere in there is fantastic and I was again privileged to get a ticket for the match. It helps if you work for one of the main sponsors! 🙂

The England v Scotland game was fantastic. Scotland really were the brave. They never gave up and won the game in the dying minutes. Italy were unlucky against France. We’re going to struggle against them too.

The Scots are up next in Murrayfield. An afternoon (11.25am) start has been agreed with some dart chucking and then a bit of grub and the Rugby at The Grand. Should be a nice early night home then.

Ah well, lets see how it pans out and thanks for reading my nonsense again.
