Two down…

So another week has passed. I was remarking to Alex on our last walk that time is just flying by. It’s nearly the end of April. 1/3 of the year down already. Where does the time go?

Looking back over the last few months, this weight loss lark has started to get a lot harder. They do say that the first eight stone is the easiest mind you.

My loss since the start of the year has been 2st 4lbs but it’s not been all plain sailing and with the Easter weekend beginning today, I doubt that next weeks weigh in will herald another loss.

There is chocolate to be had in them thar hills. I must confess to have had one egg already (thanks to work) but I know that that is likely to be the only one I’ll have. There’s no money to enjoy a beer garden this weekend and the only other chocolate will be in the form of Hi-Fi bars and Options (2 syns per serving). Dammit, I only bought two boxes of Hi-Fi bars. I’ll never cope!

We’ve got an incredible bank holiday weekend ahead weatherwise. It would be an utter shame not to make the most of it. So today’s plan is to put the washing on, write my blog post and then look to go for a wander.

I’m thinking that I’ll attempt the Caerphilly Ridgeway walk. I leave here, walk to Cefn Onn Park which is just one of Cardiff’s hidden gems. Through the park, past the Golf Club then up onto the Ridge overlooking the City. Some incredible views back but it is a bit of a steep climb on not exactly smooth paths. Still it’s been done before and while it may take a good two hours to do it, it will be worth it. I’ll post some photies on Facebook for those who want to see them.

He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy…

I went to the movies last night (The Life of Brian’s 40th Anniversary!) so I had to attend an earlier group which was different to the usual bunch. We’re definitely madder at 7.30pm! It was nice to see new people and know that Jen is doing so well keeping people motivated. I had some nice comments. Someone remarked that you read about people losing lots of weight but you never meet them and it was nice to see someone that has lost a lot. I’d never considered that so it was nice to know that just attending the other groups could help inspire others.

This weeks weigh in on the Scales of Doom was again encouraging. 2lbs off. That won me Slimmer of the Week! Not had that one for a while so that was nice to get again. (Need a new award for my wall!)

Foodwise, the start of the week wasn’t great. There were a couple of meals out and my choices there perhaps could have been better but I really fancied Fish ‘n Chips! Our local Beefeater does a mean platter so it was worth it and I found out that I get two for one there so that’s even better!

Auntie Rosie came down from Norwich for a few days. It’s always fantastic to see her. She talks a lot of sense and it was nice to have someone to talk to who has always had issues with weight. I think that she lifted a lot of pressure off my shoulders with the things we talked about for the future one way and another. Thank you.

I’ll do my best to stay off the choccy. I’ll go for a few more walks and I hope that next week will see at least half a pound off. That takes me to 8 1/2 stone, another award and then only seven pounds to my initial target.
