February again.

Back in the day, you could go out and sit in a pub with a load of mates and drink a nice ale or two. If you were so inclined, you could sit in a room full of people who would support you in your attempts to lose a little bit of timber. I’m really missing those days.

Covid has been with us for around a year or so now. Working from home was a novel idea and a lot of fun but being in lockdown for near enough two months it’s starting to get to me. I’ve been out walking and did go for a ride on the bike last weekend again but I am in desperate need of meeting my mates for a beer.

In a similar fashion, the lack of Slimming World groups over the last 12 months or so has been debilitating for someone who is trying to lose weight. The support that was provided by groups disappeared overnight. Virtual groups simply don’t work for me.

Treat Finds

So I have a couple of low cal treats this week. First off it’s Prawn Cocktail Quavers. £1 for 6 packs in Sainsburys and they are just 87 calories (4.5 syns) per bag. They have been a limited edition flavour in the past. I hope that they’re back for good this time. I understand that there is a Salt and Vinegar flavour too so I’ll pick up a bag next time I go.

My other find for a nice chocolaty treat is a new flavour of Skinny Whip bars at 99 calories (5 syns) a go.

Very nice and available at B&M Bargains. £1 for a box of five.  They do loads of other flavours too. Deffo worth a look!

Weigh-in.

So this weeks weigh in was about a pound lost. Not much but better than last weeks.

At this rate, I’ll be at my target by the end of June which is nice. I’m not sure which however would be better. Count the calories or count the Syns. I still get 30 a day although I’d aim for around 25. It may allow me to get to my target faster but then I really would prefer a sustained steady loss to get me to the goal and hopefully past it.

Will try my best to stick to the app and see how it goes.

Thanks for listening.

Phil.
