January malarkey

January is two thirds of the way through already. That is so hard to believe and it’s nuts that we’re already three weeks into this brand new year.

In that last three weeks, I have been out every weekend. I’ve eaten loads of off plan food and drunk lots of very nice beer. Saturday nights have been good if not a bit stilted as the lockdown policy in Wales at the moment meant that all we could do was sit at a table and drink loads.

The Head of Steam, Tiny Rebel and Fuel Rock Club have received my patronism every weekend and I’ve spent hundreds there. Looking back at this, it’s clear that I’m very much out of control.

I suppose that I realised this after a heart to heart with my good friend who has appointed herself my Jiminy Cricket. She’s helping with my conscience and giving me little prods in the right direction. I’ve started to declutter the house and am sorting out the kitchen cupboards. I’ve even bought some lettuce! I know right!

The tale of the scale.

Saturday night was a bit off plan, well having said that it was massively off plan! Tiny Rebel do some incredible grub. Loaded fries that are to die for and the crispiest onion rings I’ve ever tasted. That combined with a skin-full of Guinness, Oatmeal Stout, Pump Up The Jam and so much rum that even Captain Jack Sparrow would be going “Nah, you’re alright fella!”

Needless to say, the scales of doom beckoned on Tuesday night. Knowing that just a few days earlier I’d been a little trollied to say the least, I wasn’t expecting much but It registered a very satisfying 3.5lb loss. I just wonder what it would have been if I’d be good at the weekend.

So this result has given me a bit of a spur to begin again and to try sticking to the plan.

The plan…

As usual, the plan is to try and stick to the plan! I’m writing everything down to keep a record of what I’m eating. With 30 syns a day then that means that I can have some decent treats and stay within my syn limits.

I’ve signed up for a gym membership and I’m waiting for that to open so that I can start going a couple of times a week. That will help with my fitness too. That opens next month.

I’m due to go out again at the weekend but I have decided that I will drive to this one. I can’t afford to drink again so will have a good night out and no hangover on Sunday morning!

I’m hopeful that this will allow me a loss next week too. As ever, I will let you know.

Have a good week folks.
