Here I Go Again…

The plunge has been taken and this evening, Alex and I took the decision to go back to the world of slim.

It’s been nearly two years since I last went to a group and in that time I’ve put most of the weight that I lost back on. Not all has gone back thankfully but the majority of it has.

Last time I started at 28st 11lbs and lost 9.5 stone. This time I’m starting  at 27st 5lbs so aim to lose 7st as an interim. I’ve done it before and I’m certain that I can do it again.

On my own…

Well no. The rock that got me through the last time that I attempted weight loss is again going to assist with walks and no doubt some challenges along the way. Our Ali G joined up too. She’s running the Cardiff Half Marathon in October and says that she needs to lose a few pounds in order to make it a bit easier on herself.  Well, I don’t think that she needs to but she will and I have every confidence that she’ll beat me to her target well before I get half way to mine.

Last time on Fatboy Slimmer.

The last few weeks have been fairly quiet to be fair. I’ve had a couple of gigs since I last posted. Blondie, The Cult, Motorheadache, Metal to the Masses with Haxan headlining just to name a few. For the most part, I’ve driven to most of these but there has been a bit of alcohol involved.

That has been a bit of a downfall to be honest. Last week I went out on school nights and drank. Not very clever I suppose.

A few friends and I went to Golf Fang, an 18 hole crazy golf experience in town. What a fabulous evening that was. Really looking forward to going back again for another round. I think I’ll drive again though as I’m probably better sober! Although I did have the best round with a monumental 53.

Some food at Mowgli’s afterwards too which I can highly recommend but I doubt very much that it would be considered on plan now!

My good friend, another Alex, was down from Falkirk. It was so nice to spend some time with her catching up since I last saw her in Edinburgh. Hopefully, I’ll be able to go up to Falkirk for a visit. I’d love to see the Kelpies!

The Plan…

So for the foreseeable 12 weeks I’ll be trying to follow the plan. Watching the syns and keeping an eye on the food, hopefully getting a bit of exercise, walking with Ali G.

It’s going to be a tricky one and perhaps I’ve re-joined at the worst time with Steelhouse and Bloodstock literally just around the corner.

Working from home may also be a bit of a barrier but I will look to get out and do some walking, even if it is only the Thornhill Mile.  Maybe the loop if I’m feeling energetic enough!

I did eventually get out for a wander. Alex had a thought to go for a walk around Roath Park, something I’ve not done for a very long time. It was a good old yomp and it was a lot slower than we have previously made it around the park. A few more times and hopefully the time will be reduced. I think as the weight comes off then we can cut that time by around 20 minutes but it will be months before I’m able to get there.

It’s a start.

Anyway. Thanks for reading my rambling again. I’ll report next week after the first weigh in. Not expecting miracles but we’ll see.
