London, the aftermath.

It’s Tuesday again and that is another week gone.

I’ve had a not so great week on plan, but a fairly decent week with everything else that’s been going on. Wednesday and Thursday were pretty decent days spent very much on plan. Not an awful lot happened  on those few days. It was very quiet but when Friday struck it was all hands to the pumps ready for a couple of days up in that there London.

The plan was to try and stay as sober as possible… Yeah, not not with my mates! We went up to London on the National Express. I started the day off with a pretty poor cooked breakfast as the coach trip was a good four hours. We got off the coach at Victoria and went straight to the pub just outside the coach station. Then it was over to the Underground and a short ride from Victoria to Ravenscourt Park, just outside Hammersmith. Paul took us to a pub that he knew there called The Cross Keys. We stayed in there for a few hours and then about five beers later went to check-in to the hotel.

We got to the hotel and checked in, then 20 minutes later we headed out to the nearest pub. Found a good pub that did some amazing food. Again more beers and all of it very much off plan! The reason for the trip was to see Paradise Lost at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. There were a lot of people there. It was most definitely oversold. The band were utterly fantastic, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album Icon. They played the album in full and it was fab but heaving with people and massively expensive for beers.

It was a bit of a wander back to the Hotel. We spotted a number of urban foxes on the way back and I was tucked up in bed and zedding away by 12:30!

Saturday morning, not massively hungover considering the beers that were drunk the previous evening. Up and out by about 9.30 and on to another cooked breakfast, the second of the weekend. There was a cool little Italian deli and that was delicious. They had a few canoli’s which I did avoid, then we headed off into London and over to the Imperial War Museum. We did a fair bit of walking and my plates of meat were killing me!

The Imperial War Museum was awesome and we had a good a few hours wandering around looking at the exhibits. Had to have some grub at the museum just to get some energy up! Then over to the Tankard pub. Had some food there and then another couple of pints I think we visited about five pubs on Saturday night, each one more expensive than the other! More beers and more grub. It wasn’t a good weekend on plan but it was a fantastic weekend with mates beers and new people met it was proper good.

The weekend didn’t finish there. Got home on Sunday around four thirty or so and then went to see Michael Macintyre in concert at the Utilita Arena. Very funny concert I thoroughly enjoyed but it put a couple of people to sleep. I’m surprised that it wasn’t me getting forty winks!

Monday was a recovery day. I did some shopping in the morning. Spent a shedload of cash in Iceland. No Slimming World meals but did get a few items that were syn free to try and make up for the weekend’s debauchery! Today was a day spent in the office. I spent most of the day on my own but Jim was in so he came down and sat with me. I didn’t have any breakfast this morning then off to group tonight. There was nobody at the 7pm group, just Jill and Rob who are the consultants. I’m worried that the group won’t survive but Rob did assure me that it’s not going anywhere and that come the New Year, the group will get busy again.

The Tale of the Scale.

So after a pretty hefty weekend, it’s not really much of a surprise that I put on this week.

It was only 2.5lbs but it could have been an awful lot worse. I expected it so you know it wasn’t a shock that that I’d managed to undo the good work for the from the last couple of weeks.

I’m still looking at getting the two stone award by the end of the year so I will look to have a jolly good week this week. I know I’ll do my best to try and get the loss.

And now for something completely different.

Paradise Lost were a massive part of my week so here is one of my faves!

Next time on Fatboy Slimmer…

There’s not much in the way of things to hold me back this week. I will definitely look to get myself out for a walk. I need to up those steps cause I was absolutely knackered walking through London. My toes were rubbed raw by my boots which I thought would have been a good idea but it wasn’t. I need to to move more. That’s probably why I only went two and 1/2 pounds up. We trudged a good 16,000 steps plus every day. That’s my plan to try and get a mile or two under the belt.

Saturday may be a bit of a problem, I do have a gig to go to and there’s food to be eaten at The Grand but I think I will drive. If I drive then I won’t drink. I want to try and get myself to a three pound loss next week if I can do that that does give me my two stone award. Not an awful lot else is gonna push me over at this point. I’ve got some decent food in and I’ve done a Spag bol this week which I’ve not done for ages. I’ve got some beef that will go into a stew in the slow cooker so I think three pounds is entirely doable.

Wish me luck.
