Back again.

Apologies for not updating you chaps last week. No excuses, I just didn’t get round to writing a blog post. By the time I sat down to write one, it was Thursday so not much point really.

So what do I have to tell you from the last two weeks? I’m not sure, I don’t think there’s much to tell. Mum has not been great. We had a diagnosis and she’s in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.  She’s still very lucid but gets tired very quickly and when she’s tired she gets herself very confused.

Simple little things like remote controls baffle her. There’s no way that she can use her mobile phone anymore and so if you want to speak to her, please give her a call on the landline.

So that’s terrifying me and I now have to look at how we can cope with the next few months and years. I need to find out more about care homes and stuff although I have no idea where to start and I get the feeling I’ve said this before. It’s more real now.

Moving the junk

I’ve had a small(ish) burst of energy the other afternoon and decided to get the strimmer out.

I’ve never been much for the back garden here. If I can’t plug it in then it’s no use to me and if I had my way, I’d dig it all up and concrete the whole thing! Unfortunately, I’ll not really be able to do that so the alternative is I suppose to try and keep it as tidy as I can.

My next door neighbours have been prompting me and keeping an eye on what I’m doing. I’ve shifted most of the rubbish that was at the back, cut the lawn broken and binned the cut branches but there are still some larger trunks at the back. I need to get a chimnea to get shot of the remaining bits!

It looks a lot better and I’ll borrow mum’s mower to get it trimmer over the next week or so.

Walk, Jog, Run Type Thing

Talking about smallish bursts of energy, Alex has been threatening for a while to get me running. Now, I enjoy a nice walk and have no issues powering through a walk for a few hours but Alex decided to up the ante! Rather than a sedate wander around Roath Park, she got me to run part of the way. Not far admittedly but maybe a third of the way round we jogged.

I survived to tell the tale and will look to do it again soon. We went for a walk last night but it was a walk. Far too hot to run and we made it round just before an epic storm broke. We will try again next week and I hope that we’ll do slightly more that we did last time out.

The Tale from the Scale

So this weeks weigh in was half a pound lost. Not much but better than nothing. The last four weeks have seen the weight coming down. It is so very slow but it is on its way down.

I’m back as a member of Slimming World again. I’ve been upgraded to their new app and it does seem to make tracking food a bit easier. I’ll try to make the most of it and use the ideas and menus to make my food a bit more interesting.

The rest of the week may be interesting. Not got much coming up but it’s Lauren’s daughters birthday tomorrow so I’m going to help there and no doubt, there will be cake! I will however try to be as good as I can and I know I’ll stay in my syns limit.

Have a great week and I’ll be back next Thursday with the next update.

Love you all,
Phil.
