Calorie Counting Week 3

Another week down and we’re two thirds of the way through January 2021 already. Time has no way of slowing down and in fact is only accelerating.

A bit of disappointing news today although it’s purely from a selfish point of view. The Glastonbury music festival has been cancelled for a second year. Now, I don’t ever do Glasto but there are many other festivals and if the biggest in the country has cancelled six months before it was due to go ahead then it’s not good news for the rest of them.

Steelhouse and Bloodstock are later in the year but I don’t think I can go another year without gigs and festivals. I’m not sure if the promoters can either without protections from the Government. What with the current situation where they’ve not negotiated for musicians to tour in the EU without lots of paperwork I doubt they will be in a position to help and guarantee that our festivals survive into 2022.

Things are moving with the house finally. I’ve had an offer which is again far less than the house is worth but it is doable as the Equity Release company have agreed that they will write off the early repayment fee (£15k) so that should make up for the shortfall in the value of the house. There are a couple more viewings booked too so that may generate a bit more interest and who knows maybe a bidding war!

It could be all hands to the pumps in the next few weeks. There are a few items to be moved from the property along with a lot of crockery, CD’s, DVD’s and other equipment. Clothes and jewellery.

God knows where I’m going to store it all. It’s a lifetimes worth of stuff and let’s face it, I already have a lifetime of stuff here too. I think it will need a number of trips to charity shops and perhaps a skip is necessary. I may also need to look at car boots but that is for the better weather and Covid free days. I’ll look at storing as much as I can here until I can get around to getting down to Bessemer Road!

What else do I need to tell you about this week? Well I had a lovely afternoon with my friend on Saturday. Chatting for hours and watching streaming music on Twitch. Like being at a Rock Club without actually being at a Rock Club. I know that on occasion my Facebook feed fills up with music video’s off YouTube. I do apologise for this but I’m usually very very drunk! Anyway, that cheered me up. I know that lockdown means staying at home but we all need some cheering up at the moment.

How’s the diet going Gilesy?

I’ve been using Nutracheck (if you didn’t know) and decided to spend some cash to sign up for the month. I’ll probably keep it going as it seems to be keeping me fairly honest.

I will admit that I have missed of a few bits and pieces over the last week or so. I did a couple of walks in the week. Only short walks locally as the weather hasn’t been great. I’m told that it’s going to be a bit milder over the weekend so I’ll see how it goes and will try and go out on the bike. I’ve put a new seat on it so that may be a bit more comfortable.

After this week which has been a bit lazy then I’ve lost 1lb. Not a a great result but as we know it’s a pound closer to the goal that I’ve set myself. Not a pound further away.

Anyway, thanks again for reading my inane wittering’s again this week. It’s all getting back on track and I hope that I can achieve what I had done again. Get myself to that 10 stone target and then some before the end of the year.

By way of a thank you, I’m going to share some amazing music that people have been keeping a secret from me.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Mr Devin Townsend.

See you next week.
