Stay on target…

Good evening wonderful friends. It’s Tuesday again. The last week has absolutely flown past and it’s weigh in day again.

I have no idea where the time is going. I think that I’ve pondered this for quite a while now and it just doesn’t seem to slow. Weeks are accelerating and this time next week, we’ll be into September! It will very soon be Christmas and all the chocolates and mince pies will be back in the shops.

This past week hasn’t been very on plan to be honest. It’s included three portions of loaded fries, onion rings and one or three beers.

The first pile of loaded fries manifested themselves at one of the best gigs that I’ve seen for a while. Chepstow Castle is an amazing location for a concert and one of Wales’ finest bands graced the stage last Thursday night.

Cardinal Black are such an incredible band. The lead singer has a voice that can melt steel and the lead guitarist is generally believed to be one of the finest guitar players in the World and that is no exaggeration. Today’s video choice will be a song by Cardinal Black. It’s worth a listen.

However, the event was surrounded by food. A doughnut stand was calling and a loaded fries stall was on hand with quite honestly the most delicious fries I have ever tasted.

Best fries ever…

Saturday saw an afternoon out with Ali G. We went for a few drinks at Tiny Rebel in Cardiff. We met at around 3pm and had a couple of beers (I can recommend the Cwtch Gold) there with again some food. Another plate of delicious loaded fries and onion rings that appeared to be cut from tree trunks. Beer battered and utterly delicious.

A good evening followed by a drink at The Grand Bar and Kitchen then a rock around to Fuel to round off the evening with some loud music and a few more drinkies.

A day off on Sunday although with a cracking roast chicken, then a trip into town again on Monday to meet up with an old friend who I’ve not seen for five years. Just an hour to catch up which again included another plate of loaded fries.

I suppose you can see the way this week’s weigh in is going!!

The tale of the scale

So, the scales of doom approached with absolutely no expectations of a loss this week and well, that was a good thing. I maintained this week which let’s face it, I was very happy with. Given the amount of crappy food that I’ve eaten in the last week then a maintain was a good result!

So, even with two maintains this month, I still managed to get Slimmer of the Month. Six weeks in and I’m down just over a stone. There’s nothing in the way this week so I’ll aim for a good loss. I’d like to get down to 1.5 stone loss before I go to Scotland which is only two weeks away! Eeek!

Cardinal Black – Tell me how it feels.

Do yourselves a favour and check these guys out. A fantastic band who need to be far bigger than they are. Chris Buck on lead guitar is one of the best. A guitarist who doesn’t just play the note, he feels it and it shows.

Next week on Fatboy Slimmer…

I’ve not got anything that’s going to get in my way this weekend, having said that there may be a birthday / retirement party to go to on Friday night.

I’ll certainly get a couple of walks in before the end of the week so hopefully will meet Alex for a wander around Roath Park or somewhere local to her. Fingers crossed, the weather will hold and I’m sure that we’ll get an Indian Summer that will enable me to get out and about.

Anyway, thanks again for reading the worst blog in the world.

See you next week. Love ya.
