A slight gain.

Another week, another blog! Perhaps not the best of weeks on the plan. Wednesday and Thursday were fine. Friday was not a good day however. It was a fantastic day and I had a really good evening out celebrating my friends birthday but it lead to a weekend of poor choices foodwise.

What a faff getting into town was though. My bus didn’t arrive and according to the app, the nearest bus to Thornhill was only at Maindy on the way back up to Thornhill. I thought that the easiest way to get into town would be by Uber.

They wanted £27 for a cab into town. Jeez! Luckily we are spoiled for transport options here. There is a railway station about 10 minutes down the road. So off I trot down to the station. The train was late! Only 10 minutes or so but again ruddy late.

There was I expecting to be in town for 6pm, it was well gone 6.30 by the time I got to Fuel to sink my first pint of the evening. Public transport in this berg is absolutely abysmal. When you need to rely on it then it’s nowhere to be seen.

I suppose that at least we do have options. Some other places not to far away don’t even have a regular bus service let alone a train.

Anyway, there was some good food, lots of beer and some magnificent rum which in turn caused a mahoosive hangover on Saturday. Again not wanting to do any cooking on Saturday evening, I resorted to a Just Eat takeaway. That certainly wasn’t a good idea although very delicious.

I decided to make a Cottage Pie on Sunday night. It must be one of my favourite meals. I demolished it in a couple of sittings! To be fair, there would only have been a few syns in the whole dish but there was quite a quantity of it!

A walking challenge.

I’ve undertaken to walk 31 miles during October. I’m raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer and have set up a Just Giving page where people can sponsor me.

It’s only a mile a day which is literally from the house, up Heol Hir and back down again.  It’s day three today but I’ve not gone this evening cos it’s weigh in at Slimming World. However I will do double tomorrow.

Tale of the scale.

So, the scales of doom registered a gain this week. Only half a pound but it was a bit disappointing to be fair. I think that I knew I’d gone up again as this weekend was very much on bad grub and a bit of a weighty cottage pie too!

This weekend is going to be a bit tough too (see below) so I’m not hopeful of a loss again next time out. I will try to be good for the next few days. Maybe I can get a maintain.

This weeks music vid.

Inspired by what I’ll be seeing on New Year’s Eve in Edinburgh.

Next week on Fatboy Slimmer.

It’s that time of the year again. A mix of joy and remembrance. My birthday on the 7th is also the day that my beloved mother passed away, two years ago.

Like most of my posts, I just can’t believe where the time is going. I need to go to Wenvoe early on Saturday morning to put some flowers on her little plot first thing. Then I need to get myself home and back into town for the start of my 53rd complete trip around the sun celebrations.

A short rail trip to Bristol is in order with a load of mates to start the year off. So next week’s weigh in will not be a good one. I’ll attempt to maintain but you know what. I have to enjoy the day and worry about the scales next weekend.

Anyway. Thanks for reading again. (I have no idea why you do!)
