October’s End.

It’s Halloween and the witching hour is nearly upon us. It’s been an okay sort of week on the lead up to tonight’s weigh-in or at least I thought.

I’ve had a couple of nights out this last week. Mum’s cousin Marion, her daughter and grand daughter invited me out for food on Wednesday. We went to The Red Kite in Caerphilly and it was lovely to see them. I’ve not seen them for probably over a year or so. Of course, there was pub grub on the menu. I did have fish ‘n chips (my standard go to on any menu!) and there was a dessert involved too. I didn’t think that it would do too much damage.

Saturday night saw another night on the beers with a Halloween party at Fuel. It was not a good night on plan and I was ever so slightly tiddly. Sunday was a write off although I didn’t resort to Maccy D’s at all.

I did enjoy a lovely piece of gammon with mashed spuds. Just what I needed after a hefty night out on the pop to be fair.

Fuel Loons!

The tale of the scale…

So the week wasn’t the best.

There was very little exercise this week apart from a bit of dancing on Saturday night to heavy rock music!

It wasn’t surprising that this week, the scales of doom registered a gain.

3lbs on is a bit of a worry seeing that I’ve taken off four in the last couple of weeks. I’ve not ended the month in the way that it started, even with a visit to Bristol and a birthday in between.

The plan needs to change and I think that I need to move more than I have in the last week. Storm Ciarán is due to hit South Wales in the next few days and it’s raining like cats and dogs outside now.

So it’s counting the syns and measuring stuff for the week. Not to worry with any free foods but perhaps I do need to watch the quantities.

And now for something completely different….

I’ve been listening to a lot of synthpop music recently. The 80’s was prime time for synthpop with bands like the Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode. I’m going to see a Depeche Mode tribute band on Friday evening so this is a cover of one of their greatest hits. The cover is by a band called Hybrid who are from Swansea and I have a lot of love for them. This is a great interpretation of Enjoy the Silence.

Next week on Fatboy Slimmer

I’ve got a bit of a difficult week coming up. I have two consecutive days where I’m out. Got a works afternoon out on Friday afternoon with work, coupled with the aforementioned gig at Fuel. On Saturday it’s Wales v The Barbarians in the Stadium.

I’m going to have to forego the booze on at least one of those days. It may be a last bus home on Saturday then but it has to be done.

The plan to lose 2lbs a week has been put back by a couple of weeks. I had hoped that the trend of the previous few weeks would continue and I was aiming for 2 stone by mid November. I need to revise that timetable and look at mid December and getting there before Christmas.

I need to ensure that I go out for walks. A complete lack of exercise over the last 7 days has been shocking. My stepcount is so low, it’s almost a flatline. It could be reflective of my mood too. I’ve been pretty low after work so I need something to get that boosted again.

Anyway. Thanks for taking the time to read this guff. I have no idea why you do.
