The End of January.

So it’s the last week in January already. Time is literally flying past and in the words of Douglas Adams, making a loud wooshing sound as it zooms past my head!

This week has been a fairly decent week. I’ve been as good as I can be on plan. I’ve tried to watch my syns and to have the best food that I can. I didn’t go drinking on the weekend and still had a good night out on Saturday watching an all female Black Sabbath tribute band!

Went back to Fuel for a couple of hours and I was driving so ner a drop of alcohol passed my lips this weekend. I was most pleased with myself!

Looking back on the week, I tried to change up my plans for grub. I’ve had a lot of pasta this week. I made my awsome bolognese and have been working my way through it. I made another one last night. It’s a good SW friendly food and very filling. I use 5% Mince beef. There’s a tin of green lentils, tins of tomatos and passatta. Onions, carrots, sweetcorn and mushrooms so you know it’s as good as it can be.

I’ve had the bolognese with a couple of baked potatoes and not just pasta so it’s it’s been a good week foodwise.  Not much has thrown me off plan this week. I did have Sunday Lunch out and it did involve a bit of Sticky Toffee pudding but I walked to and from the restaurant. My snacking has been better this week but you know, it’s never 100% is it!

The Tale of the Scale

I felt as though I may have lost a bit more than I did this week actually because I’ve been relatively good compared to previous weeks.

I was hoping that the weight loss this weekend would have been a decent one. As it was, 2lbs off was not bad and I’m quite happy with that. I was hoping for maybe 3lbs but still I’m back on track.

Only 2lbs off the next stone bracket too is nothing to be sniffed at so it’s another good sign that things are going in the right direction.

Next week

There is one big obstacle that’s going to slightly get in the way next weekend. Saturday see’s the start of the 2024 Six Nations Rugby Championship and the chances of me not going into town to watch the Rugby are negligible.

Wales versus Scotland is the first game of the campaign. Wales had got a job to try and redeem themselves from last year’s shoddy performance and record win by Scotland over Wales.

If I can get a ticket for the game through work then I’ll be in town. I think that I’m diciplined enough not to drink and may go with the Guinness 0.0 so even if I’m not drinking then I’ll still feel as though I am joining in and having something despite it being zero alcohol.

The rest of the week will be bolognese and good foods. Chicken and steak are good but I do suffer with speed food.

January has been a good month with 5lbs off. That’s a total of 2st 3lbs. I hope that next month allows me to lose another 5 – 7lbs.

We’ll see how it goes.
